Got myself a 52 plate e39 530d touring to replace my R reg 528 saloon. If I am honest, the build quality on the new one is cack compared to the old one. Are they generally like this, or have I got myself a Friday car?

Check the main earth point from the battery! When i swapped the engine in mine, i only did it up finger tight, gave same sort of symptoms. Felt a right tw@t, but you learn!!

Thanks for the reply, non of the key locks seem to work with no power, so my fear was the battery going flat and me being locked out! This wasn't a problem before because the car was at the side of the house and i didn't need to lock it.

Evening all,
Taken the battery off my e30 so it doesn't go flat while it's kept on the drive, but the locks don't work using the key, and I need to lock it to stop pikey c"nt's nicking it. Help please!!

If its wet (it rained alot when i was there ) drive with extreme caution, its like driving on black ice. A 320 came in to the local scrap yard.
Has the gearbox got closer ratios than my 318 box? I read that the 325 sport close ratio box was a 320 box.
Any info would be great.

Hello, are there any repair panels available for the rear inner arches? i've got some big holes to fill!!

This sort of thing has happened twice on my 528. Car would start fine when cold, then when it got up to temp would go sluggish and stall sometimes, was the crank sensor both times.(two separate engines) Hope this helps

Are the shockers/springs interchangable? The car i bought is dropped onto its bump stops, which looks cool, but is feck all use down the lanes!!

Just bought a G plate 318i with a rod through the block for road rallying.
I have got access to a rotten s plate e36 is i can take bits off, what will fit/is worth swapping over? Could do with the engine more than anything!!
