Re:
Does this get parked on the stranmillis road most days? Definately recognise it, and there can't be many tech ones as clean as that in NI!

Re: Lowering/Coilover questions
I have been researching this for quite a while now, and lowering springs and shocks has been my solution unfortunately. I'll post pics of the drop and my set up once I have the car back from it's respray.

Re: Lowering/Coilover questions
Iirc this is a 318i? If it is, the JOM coilovers wont work, their inserts and spring perches are for the 51mm struts found on 6-cylinder e30's. You can change the struts over easily enough, just adds more cost! If you're not already on it, join stanceworks - They have really good threads on getting ...

Re:
I was thinking of doing this exact same thing, want an oem looking headunit, just slightly better radio function and better sound quality. How easy is it to maintain a working aerial when putting in a new stereo? I have a mate who's fairly nifty with wiring, but i just want to make sure it can be ma...

Re: Wheeler dealers
I love wheeler dealers! I have a mike brewer swear box for when he uses phrases like "hold out your hand fella" or "Cash?" and referring to £500 as "a monkey" or more recently on auto trader describing bad examples as "lemons" - one episode he said it 7 times. I noticed on the E30 they swapped the a...

Re:
Are the wings with side repeaters not US Spec as opposed to prefacelift eko? My 87' still has side repeaters, i'd seriously condider removing them if i could find some way round the MOT. Some really realy early prefacelifts might lack side repeaters but all cars made after 85 have to have them. Also...

Re:
To be honest, if i got those i'd have to fiddle with shortened dampers etc and it still wouldn't please me, i'm pretty set on the coilovers, especially as they're local. Cheers anyway!

Re:
Haha I well should've seen 60/60 in your sig. I'd want to go a tad lower at the front and by the time i'd priced up drop hats or needlessly awkward 60/75 kits it was much easier and only slightly more expensive to go for coils. Not gonna get them for a while tho, needs arch work/ respray first then ...

Re:
Kemix - thank you, yeh needs some coilies. Got them on a local non-specific car forum, pretty lucky find at such a good price. Your car is lovely, how've you lowered it?
It was going well, now it's going brilliantly.Ranchero wrote:It was all going so well till you put those wheels on. What happened?

Re: Finally bought one - Chromie Content.
Haha, at some stage in the future I'd love to drop an m50 in there but only when insurance and my mechanical knowedge allow. Apparently it's a pain in the arse doing a swap on a 316 cos there's no fuel return line so I'd need to swap the petrol tank and everythin. Tbh I don't imagine an engine swap ...

Re: Finally bought one - Chromie Content.
Cheers lads! Yeh originally sold In the Bavarian dealership in Belfast. The previous owner had obviously disliked the plastic wheels, there was a hideous faux leather steering wheel cover on it, along with equally hideous seat covers. At least they protected the interior. After much searching appare...

Finally bought one - Chromie Content.
Hi guys, I've been a long-time lurker on here, but i've finally accumulated the cash and the balls to buy my one of my favourite beemers. I'm 18 and just one year ago, was seriously considering modifying my fiesta, but some perusing on choice car websites made me realise that modifying a fiesta is t...
