Who have you bought from? I'm thinking of getting a 325 chip from www.chippeduk.com, he sells on ebay and says he would need the ECU number too. Has anyone bought from here before? Ta

Do I need bushes?

If I upgrade my suspension, should I do the bushes at the same time? If so, which ones do I need for a '90 325 SE? Powerflex seem to do 19mm, 21mm, 24mm or something. What happens if I leave them as standard? Thanks

there is a timer on the OBC, which is manually controlled. It doesn't automatically give you your 0-60 time but if you press it when you start and when you get to 60, there's your time. You don't need a code to see what's left in the tank, just push the range button. it doesn't work though, mine say...

I have the same problem on my 325 - it's squirting out the red stuff all over the place. I was told in excess of Ԛ£400 for a new one, or recon my one all in for Ԛ£235. Lose the car for three days tho whilst it's done! :(

Thanks for that. What is your opinion to the ones on the US website then? They are 20 spoke and 16", but I can't really tell about the length. They make no mention of the makers! They do look nice, but if i knew they were fake it just wouldn't be the same, damn my obsession for the real thing!

To get a proper set of 8s and 7s in mint i think i'd pay it, but there is more essential work i need to do before i can indulge in those. Could they advertise them as genuine if they weren't? I don't see how. That's why i was asking about the number of spokes. Plus, importing from the USA you have t...

Sorry, something else to add. Www.beckerelectronics.com have for sale genuine new Alpinas, 7x16 and 8x16, for $1500. With our exchange rate that's about Ԛ£850 - ok, so you don't get tyres and you'd have to ship them over, but is that a good price? Considering the recent ones on ebay went for Ã...

How many spokes on an Alpina?

I read on here recently that you could tell an alpina rep as they all had 19 spokes whereas the genuine ones had 20. Is this always true? Thanks

My float had turned upside down too when I bought it - i knocked them down over Ԛ£100 expecting a wiring fault, and all i had to do was rotate it 180! You can do it by hand, don't even need tools 8)

Front Strut Brace on Auto

I've seen some photos of a double-tube alloy strut brace that sits mainly along the top of the engine bay, curving down to fit to the two turrets. The trouble is, on an auto this looks worryingly close to where the auto transmission dipstick is. Does anybody know if this brace would restrict access ...

Usual cause of non working lights of the front doors is the door switches themselves. They get tarnished and a little ridge of plastic builds up under the contact. Unscrew the single retaining screw, take them out and clean them up. The blank above the rear view mirror is an access panel to manuall...

I've had my 325 for exactly four weeks, I reset all the computer data when i got and it's currently showing 20.4 mpg. That's 40 miles on a motorway each day; the needle sits at about 25mpg at 100mph. So i guess if you are driving urban, it would be less! The price we pay for a lovely engine under th...

Slightly off topic, but on my 4 dr the interior light only comes on when the rear doors are opened, neither front door sets it off. Fronts still have the sensor things in the frame though?! On my 2dr both fronts made the light come on. I have a light above each pillar, should the 4dr have another on...

I changed from a 2dr 318 to a 4dr 325, as it would have been useful to get my girlfriend's kids in the back. A week later, we split up  I'm still happy with it tho, I think 4drs look more subtle and less boy-racer, and a 325 still has the grunt under the bonnet however many doors it has!

Total Closure Alarm for Sunroof?

I am having a total closure alarm fitted - ok, so I don't really need it I know, but it will look the dogs when the windows go up at the press of a button! But, the installers are telling me it's not advisable to have the sunroof module on a tilt/slide sunroof. Has anyone out there had it done...

hi guys,

been looking at some previous threads and seen some awesome pics of some black covers with silver lettering/strips. Has anyone done the opposite and polished up and lacquered silver with the lettering done differently? love to see some photos or mock-ups by you photo-editing geniuses!

Where to get Panel Filter?

I have read on here that a few of you guys have panel filters. Is it true that these aren't as loud as the full induction kits, and where can i get one for a 325? I have looked on the web but no luck. What are the pros and cons of the different filter options?

Thanks!

suspention first for sure :D get used to the ride and the grip levels it will look better lower on standard rims than hiiiigh up on 17s and get a good kit not just springs. if you get just springs it basicly a half job and takes its toll on your standard shocks! wat are your standard rims? 15" BBS....

What comes first, the alloys or the suspension?

Hi all, Just got rid of a tatty 318 for a sweet 325, which is crying out for some 'enhancements'. Had it looked over and it's mechanically sound, so I'm investing in a nice cat 1 Toad alarm... but what next? I'm looking to get some 17" Alpinas, but also want to lower by 40mm all round - what should ...
