Re: Electric window help please
Thankfully the front window has started working again :hammer: However with the rear one I tried the switch on the centre console as well as on the door and neither worked, so I'm guessing it's motor related rather than to do with the switches. The weird thing is it'll still go down but not up :? so...

Electric window help please
A couple of months ago one of the rear electric windows on my touring conked out - it'll go down but not up. Today the front passenger window has suffered the same fate  Is there some way of getting the damn things to go up? With the rear one I took the motor off the door and just wedged...

Re: LPG on 325/335 with megasquirt
My 335i is generally smoother on lpg than it is petrol. Pulls a wee bit harder on petrol at the top end though

Re: Quickie: Touring Fuel Pump Location
Actually, the car sometimes has another problem (one of many - lol). When switching from lpg to petrol it can run quite poorly for as much as a couple of minutes. I've not got my head around why but have thought maybe that the level of advance on gas screws the car up when switching back to petrol o...

Re: Compression test
Ah I see. Sorry not sure of the answer but i thought the compression only happened when the valves are closed so it should be the same with or without manifolds. I wait to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable..... The compression value is the max pressure within the combustion chamber (i.e. b...

Re: Quickie: Touring Fuel Pump Location
Cheers Brian
Thanks to the earlier help I'd essentially done what you've suggested
I didn't know about the risk of fuel leaking but there's never more than about a tenners worth of fuel in the tank, as the damned thing leaks (which makes having no gauge even more annoying).

Re: Quickie: Touring Fuel Pump Location
The pumps works, it's just that the gauge doesn't :( It shows a random amount of fuel and the light has a mind of it's own too  Had a look at it this evening and unplugging the plug made the gauge stop working. Plugged it back in and jiggled the pump about a bit in case the floater thingy was s...

Quickie: Touring Fuel Pump Location
Can someone tell me where the fuel pump is on my E30 Touring?
The Haynes manual says it's either in the boot or under the rear seats but a quick look suggests finding out which may be a bit of an effort.
So I though the kind folks of the E30 Zone might be able to help
Cheers.

Intermitent PAS failure
My PAS stopped working a couple of times yesterday 8O  It only did it from cold at idle (although I suppose you can't really tell if PAS is working at higher speeds so it may have been more). Once the car warmed up the problem went away. It was very wet out so don't know if this may have contri...

The noise stays the same whether you're in gear or not (and at any revs). It's loudest when coasting (i.e. not on throttle or brakes) at 30 and 60 mph :? I jacked the car up last night and the bearings all seem fine and I couldn't see any parts of the car about to collapse or fall off (which is a re...

Humming
My lpg'd 335i has developed an annoying humming sound. It originally only happened at about 60mph but you can hear it most of the time now. It's there irrespective of revs or even being in gear. :-x Any suggestions for what I should check as I can't see anything loose, broken or rubbing. The car has...

Disabling ABS
Can anyone tell me how to switch the ABS off? I can't find a fuse to pull. As I'm here, any thoughts on the problem would be appreciated :D At speeds under about 5mph one of the sensors seems to think a wheel is locked, which fires the ABS. This is annoying and lengthens the braking distance ...
