I'll be replacing my front shocks this week and know that removing inserts is a pain in the backside on other cars.
Is there any trick to it to make it easier on an e30?

I call my car much worse things than any random member of the public ever would.

17's, unfortunately.
But will be changing to some very controversial 15's when I get round to having them refurbed.

Re: 60/60 or 60/40?
Think I'll just stick to a suspension kit over a full body drop!
I reckon I'll hedge my bets and go for a 60/40 kit. They seem to be pretty popular so it cant be that bad.
And yes, if it turns out to be shocking, you can say 'I told you so' and I will eat humble pie.

Re: 60/60 or 60/40?
dont I know it! it came on some horribly low suspension and the camber on the rear is a joke. The front seems fine though and its a lot more than 60mm at the moment so surely a 60/40 would solve the problems with the rear? I know lowering a car a lot is never a particularly good idea but I do want i...

60/60 or 60/40?
I'm about to buy a suspension kit for my car but cant decide what drop to go for.
Does anyone have any pictures of cars with 60/40 and 60/60 drops they could post so I can have a look? (its a touring but any pics will do)
Cheers.

Re: A few annoying electrical issues.
I think this one came with them when it was new but has had some work on the front end (new bumper and valance) so I think they may have just tucked the wiring away. I'll have a hunt around. If I have to take the bumper off to get to the indicator wiring then hopefully something will become apparent...

ah. I did wonder if they were supposed to have fluid in them or not.
I guess not!
Thank you, I'll add a new rack to the list.

power steering rack issues
My steering rack leaks. At first it used to pop one of the gaitors off (drivers side, outside end of gaitor) every couple of days, but now it has developed a leak on the passenger side which leaks constantly. Since this leak started it hasnt popped the other side off, which suggests to me that its c...

Re: A few annoying electrical issues.
I was told about you Mr Mooooooore! The chap who told me about this forum holds you in very high praise indeed so I was hoping you would see this. I'm pretty good with the mechanical side of things on e30's, have done an engine swap or two, but wiring is something I've always tried to avoid so pleas...

I'll have a look at the wiring in the doors and indicators and get back to you. re wire the fogs??? err... how? (idiots guide please. I bloody hate wir...

cheers.
He's right, the front bumper is diamantscwartz.
I kind of like it, its a nice contrast against the green.
I'mm toying with the idea of matching the back one to it but not sure.

Re: my 325 estate, shiny and clean.
yeah its a bit of a project. Lots of little bits and bobs to fix/change.
The main thing is it has a very solid shell, everything else can be fixed

A few annoying electrical issues.
I got my car pretty cheap, and the shell is spotless, but it has a few little issues that I really want to sort, but dont really know where to start as electrics isnt my strong point. I'll put them all in one place to keep things neat. My rear washer doesnt work. It doesnt even make a noise like its...

my 325 estate, shiny and clean.
Just had the 325 cleaned so thought I'd put some pictures up. I've been doing a lot of miles in it over christmas so it didnt seem worth cleaning it inbetween. I was quite proud of how dirty it got, in an odd way. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af357/waveydavey1/DSCF1724.jpg http://i1023.photob...

Lumpy idle?
My 325 has some problems with idling. Its either hunting for idle or revving at 1k when I let it drop to idle at lights etc. There's a bit of a pattern to it, but its not regular. After driving at normal speeds and revs when I dip the clutch it will rev at 1k, then gradually drop down until it start...
