Re: 318is rebuild rear suspension questions
poly bushes should be lubricated on installation and periodically there after, my experience is that this seldom happens and the poly bush life span is considerably shorter than OEM rubber bushes.

the welding is a good fix but do yourself a favour and get a genuine sump guard making the pan stronger will not help prevent breakage if you hit something

Re: 4 Stud to 5 Stud conversion
I have used the sleeve method and original struts with e36 front hubs and I am very happy with the result. there are no bearings to mate an e36 hub to an e30 strut, all BMW front hubs are the bearing they are a one piece unit. my hub nut engages on all of its thread but the hub does stand further ou...

i agree with DanThe if you are running after market springs regardless of the make or the amount of drop fit an adjustable rear beam. this is the only way to get your wheel alignment back to original settings. and its way cheaper than OE springs.

Re: M50 engine & SW/AUTO Box???
I like the modern auto myself, however I would not recommend doing one with the m50/m52 mod as the motors lean at more angle than the original and I reckon it will have a negative effect on the auto box or complicate the transplant.

i am running 215/35/18 and the car is rock solid i also have an e36 rack to improve the steering. the car does not like bad roads but if you are going to do track days i would recommend it my wheels are 7.5 wide i have no rubbing. i also do not have that silly stretched look

Re: polys again..
no serious race car uses cheap poly bushes. the solid style bushes they do use would likely shake out your fillings for street use, and while poly bushes may stiffen up your ride a bit their lifespan is not that great. for hard street use fit m3 front control arm bushes and original for the rest.

hi i looked into this a year ago for the same reasons fitting a single pump to the tank is to difficult as the feed pump in the tank currently is much smaller. the only practical way to upgrade is to source a later tank. I eventually broke down and replaced both pumps. the in tank unit is rather pri...
