So I've been looking for the last few months for a classic Bmw that isn't an E30. I'm looking at E12s, E24s and E28s. I'm pretty open but all the stuff coming up on all the usual sites haven't taken my fancy, has anyone got any hidden gems about? I have upto £10,000 but would like around £8000 so I ...

Yeah strangely I have to come moredoors now over the toe doors, I guess it's being around it all the time. But for £2,500, 26,000 on the clock and garaged since 1985 it was a pretty good deal I think

This is my flat mates MK1 escort 1.3GL. Hidding behind the badge is a 1.6 Crossflow tuned with Honda Fireblade carbs. Not atm, apart from going lower and replacing the sump twice things have slowed due to move out so funds are limited, i got a rocker cover and bits to get powder coated to make the engine bay a bit tidier and remade the exhaust! i have a couple of recent photos though... http://i230.photobucket.com/...

Quick M42 ECU question
The ECU on my IS is the one that you cant get a chip for, now a friend has a spare ECU which is 'chipable' can i swap them over or do they run differently?

M42 engine rebuild parts...
So I'm looking for timing chain kit, bottom end bits and head bits, basically I'm doing a full rebuild. Where's the best place to get parts.
It seems to be quite a pain in the ass to find all the bits!

So it sounds like we have decided it is a worth while upgrade. I plan on doing it in the coming months...
My next question is, when I take it to the engineering shop what shall I ask them to do? As in, where's the best place to remove the weight? And is there any complications that need to be noted?

i can imagine an S50 E30 drive slightly diffrent to an M42, so it would be wrong to judge IMO, we need some opnion from people who have actually done the mod and driven the car in all driving conditions
