Re: E30 M3 bodykit
Have you considered simply fitting flared bolt-on guards to a 325i? It will look better than an M3 kit, be much easier to source and fit and if you knock something, will be easier to replace.

it is recommended to be get the best from a 288 cam and above but not mandatory! i do stand by it, the results will be much much better in every single facet. i.e idle, part throttle, WOT power and torque across the board, better tunability, throttle response.... your engine is crying out for some,...

Re: Track exhaust on m52'd e30
I am very late to this post I know, and please ignore this if you have already found the solution. Anyway, basically the X-pipe allows the gases travelling through one pipe to create a pressure difference behind it (or a vacuum) and helps to draw any unburnt or standing gas from the other pipe with ...

Re: Strut braces
Just doing a quite internet search suggests that any E30 brace that fits with an M20 will fit with an M50 (the type that is curved and passes close to the back of the engine bay/firewall). Basically choose a brace that is solid with robust joints between the bar and the tower mounts (they are easier...

Re: handling
My understanding is that car body roll is first determined by the damper strength (initial roll on turn in) followed by the spring stiffness once the car has settled into the corner. Using stiffer anti roll bars will help with this somewhat, but their main influence is the car's balance during corne...

Mine are from DTMfibrewerks. They fit nicely, but come an unpainted whitish/gray colour. My only concern with them is that if I ever blow a tyre they will get properly shredded and require replacing as they are not flexible. http://dtmfiberwerkz.com/access/rivet-style-front-rear-fender-flares-p-343....

Re: Mtec Swaybar Any good? Or go right to Aftermarket?
It is my opinion that if you were to go out and buy an adjustable sway bar kit (like the Eibach kit for example), then you will not see any negative effect during normal street driving as the bar really only has any affect during aggressive cornering. Therefore for around town, you will not notice i...

I have the DTMFibrewerks arches on my E30. They were delivered quickly and at a good price (I feel). DBA (Disc Brakes Australia) offer front and rear competition rotors for E30 (4000-t3 series). Without opening the motor you can try the following; I would also look at expanding the air intake to the head. As there any benefit of running the air filter pod on the throttle body (doing away with the intake tract)? I was always under the impression that the long intake tract actually benefits the airflow as it has an accelerating "ramming" effect on the air entering the intake plenum (as long as it is la...

Re: Rear axle grip
Agreed, that more rear camber maybe helpful. Another question is what tyres and tyre pressures are you running. I helped a mate get his lap times down by some 10 seconds at a track day once by simply playing around with his tyre pressures. Also, 17" tyres sound large for a non-M3 E30 for the track. ...

A question; the "percentage lock" is not an accurate method to describe the amount of resistance as "percentage lock" relates to the engine power/torque. Therefore, isn't stating the breakaway torque a better measurement? I ask this because as I understand it, 70% lock equals a breakaway torque of s...

I use the 90mm Turner studs on my race car. They are great, but I needed to buy an extra long socket to engage to wheel nut when fully torqued. Rally; outside of endurance racing is the only true test of man and machine, and the ultimate challenge for any driver . I can't wait to get back into rallying again. Sorry to jump into this discussion, but I have a similar problem I hope someone can answer. Re: Spacers & Wheel Bolts
This is better as the studs bolt directly to the hub (no transferring of forces to the spacer, then to the hub). Also, as the hubcentric spacer (H&R) carries the load of the wheel, there is no danger of the wheel moving relative to the hub. This is a MUCH better and safer option. For a race car whic...

When we first ran side pipes on the race car, we did not use an X-pipe. On the dyno we only managed around 120+ kW at the wheels, and the engine felt flat on the track.. we thought this was weird so we looked into it and fitted an X-pipe. The next dyno was around 140+kW... The moral of the story.. f...

I have it and like it a lot. For me it is easily the best bang for your buck tunable ECU available for early model BMW's and very easy to install. Obviously, as it uses the factory wiring loom it has limitations in how much tuning it can provide, but it will comfortably handle fuel mapping, ignition...
