Re: Bad tapping noise, could this be a fuel injector?

after 10 years standing i assumed you had the cambelt changed ?.

The noise could be from the injectors, but in truth after 10 years standing you would be wise to remove and have them professionally overhauled in any event.

Re: Hello from Cornwall, UK. 325i Convertible

im not a fan of white cars as rule, but that looks ace. Looks very original which is a bonus.

I would look to remove the seats and lift the carpet at some point to check the floor pan and check the back of the battery tray,

your injectors sound like they need balanced, thats why you need to send them to a pro like injectortune.

Re: Not sure if my alternator is nackered (quick answer please)

Did you remove the brushes from the alternator to see how worn down they are. It's two phillips head screws to get it out to check. You can get new brush sets cheaply enough instead of a new alternator if they are kaput. ..as above i removed mine few years back, replaced the brushes (less than £20....

when you say the conversion has been done properly- how do you know?

an E30 thats been modified is likely to be worthless than a stock car- 3-4K is about where i would be also.

I agree- nice cab, but those US bumpers just kill the lines.

a euro bumper converstion, a good set of 15'' BBS and you would have a car that would look the part.

fuel pumps are straight forward to replace- why remove a good engine for a worn out pump ?- the pumps are pretty hardy, but after 33 years a worn out pump is hardly a suprise..

thats a nice looking cabby and in a nice colour. Its clearly been looked after. I have a 320I cabby - the 318i is just as able but less thirsty. its your car at the end of the day but unless the conversion works are done by a reputable person/company it will likely only devalue the car and make it d...

welcome to the Zone as others have stated get the cambelt changed before you crank it over- they are time sensitive part and if it degrades and slips then the engine will grenade itself. as its been standing for some time also do consider replacing the tensioner and waterpump. oh and post some pics....

removing the pierberg is a good start, they dont age well. As opposed to webbers why not try a bespoke fuel injection system- the M10 version you have a very straight forward engine.

whilst the dash is out check the back of the battery tray from inside the car- its a known rot spot (in Uk at least) and with the dash out its much easier to repair/weld.
