E30 Zone

thanks for all the helpful comments, will try these when I get a chance.

I have a set of E30 sports seats fitted to my 4dr. The seat moves around slightly as the the seatback is loose which is annoying when you're going round a corner... the seat is definitely tightened up onto the floor, anyone got any ideas?

I had this problem, I did all of the things suggested, and replaced the breather pipe to the idle control valve, adjusted the idle stop screw, and it's working fine.

Inlet manifold gaskets are all good too, I have checked them thoroughly. Thanks for suggestions anyway...

I have cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner, and replaced the hose that goes to the ICV, and made sure it fits tight so it shouldn't be that... that's why I'm so confused as to what it is as I've check everything for air leaks, and cleaned everything out

Have just cleaned the TB and ICV thoroughly and the engine is still stalling... :eek: I held the throttle open at about 1800-2000rpm for about 5 mins and then gradually closed the throttle and it idled ok for a bit but then stalled again. Think I'll replace the TPS next unless anyone's got any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that the blanking plug on the TB is still there, but I'll check... Is the TPS located underneath the throttle body, and if so, can it be checked without removing the inlet manifold? When I took the main air inlet pipe out, there seemed to be an oily residue on the inside, at the TB e...

Yes wil try that although they were replaced only a few hundred miles ago, and I think they are black because the engine isn't getting run properly...

Where is the TPS located on a M40 1.8?

Hi, just replaced the hoses and the problem is still there... any more ideas as I am running out of ideas myself...The engine still starts, then surges to about 1200 rpm then stalls again, unless you open up the throttle in which case it seems fine.

I've got a main black cable then a red and a green cable both going into a white connector. There is also a black earth strap...

Should the aerial move up when the ignition is on or is it only when you start the engine? Basically, I can't start the engine due to another problem so was wondering if it should raise on ignition... The new aerial is a Beru one from ECP...

Yes but where does it connect the other end?

My car was having idling problems, and I think the problem is the air breather hose for the ICV... Haven't got it fitted yet but hopefully it'll cure it.

Ok brilliant. So an E36 is can still slide nicely with an open diff then...? OK, I want m-tec suspension but can't find many with it on...

Where can I get the three hoses in the centre of the photo from?Or would lots of electrical tape work just as well?

I can only get another car when I've finished my E30 project so if you've still got it in a few months I'll be interested... Have you driven both cars and can you feel any difference? HOw controllable is the non-LSD on the limit? Also, how much difference does the m-tec suspension make to the ride/h...
