Sport seats
I have a set of E30 sports seats fitted to my 4dr. The seat moves around slightly as the the seatback is loose which is annoying when you're going round a corner... the seat is definitely tightened up onto the floor, anyone got any ideas?
Thnks.

Re: 318i m40 limpy on idle
I had this problem, I did all of the things suggested, and replaced the breather pipe to the idle control valve, adjusted the idle stop screw, and it's working fine.

I have cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner, and replaced the hose that goes to the ICV, and made sure it fits tight so it shouldn't be that... that's why I'm so confused as to what it is as I've check everything for air leaks, and cleaned everything out

Ok will try the oil cap, the thing is it will only idle when warm, has to be left running for about five mins then it will idle lumpily... I'm pretty sure the big air hose doesn't have any leaks, I have checked it thoroughly. any specific pipes to check? AS I say, I've already replaced the one to th...

Re:
I have cleaned the ICV and had it ultrasonically cleaned too. It runs better but the revs drop slightly as though it's about to fall every 6 seconds or so at idle? Also before I cleaned the ICV, I unplugged it, then started and it idled OK, and when I plugged it back the engine surged and stalled. A...

Engine starting but not idling...
My 1990 318i starts and then dies almost immediately, unless the throttle is applied and then it will run as normally, but as soon as the throttle is closed it will stall. I have replaced the ICV breather pipe and cleaned the ICV. The main air inlet pipe doesn't appear to have any leaks and I have c...

Re: Engine idling issues
Have just cleaned the TB and ICV thoroughly and the engine is still stalling... I held the throttle open at about 1800-2000rpm for about 5 mins and then gradually closed the throttle and it idled ok for a bit but then stalled again. Think I'll replace the TPS next unless anyone's got any ideas?

Re: Engine idling issues
I'm pretty sure that the blanking plug on the TB is still there, but I'll check... Is the TPS located underneath the throttle body, and if so, can it be checked without removing the inlet manifold? When I took the main air inlet pipe out, there seemed to be an oily residue on the inside, at the TB e...

Re: Engine idling issues
Hi, just replaced the hoses and the problem is still there... any more ideas as I am running out of ideas myself...The engine still starts, then surges to about 1200 rpm then stalls again, unless you open up the throttle in which case it seems fine.

Re: 89 318i hunting for idle
My car was having idling problems, and I think the problem is the air breather hose for the ICV... Haven't got it fitted yet but hopefully it'll cure it.

Re: Engine idling issues
Help! Just taken off the airbox and AFM. The inlet pipe to the throttle body has perished slightly but there are no cracks as far as I can see. Also, the engine was still idling in the same way when I started it with the pipe off. The AFM appears to work fine, I checked it with the airbox off. I che...
