Re: M20b30
I've sorted the ECU out (not vems or megasquirt) and I'll get the manufacturer to tune the car once it's built. I'll get it running on the 2.5 the put in the 3.0.

I was hoping you'd catch this thread Reggid, your engine is a great inspiration to me.
I'll try source as many parts in the UK as I can. Most parts I should be able to get & sourcing the odd bit from the US shouldn't be too much hassle.

Re: M20b30
I've been looking at bimmerheads race heads with 1mm over sized valves for it (with 284 cam) that should flow enough with some sort of ported intake manifold.
Eventually I'd like ITB's but that will be a few years down the line.

I'm sure I read somewhere that I could use an M54b30 crank with custom pistons but would like some clarification before I make my shopping list.

Yeah, I've got their site bookmarked on my phone. I was just wondering if there was another way.... I don't fancy paying the shipping, insurance & import tax on their stroker kit (although a 3.1 would be fun! )

M20b30
Evening all,
I'm still thinking of ideas for a stroker motor in my 4dr & keep coming back to a b30....
Any ideas on what parts I'd need? As in which crank & Pistons to use? Would I need custom or are there any late engine parts I could use?
Cheers
Jamie

The revshift ones from hack engineering look good quality & there are plenty of US e30's running them. They come in different hardness compounds too.

Re: More Torque
I looked at all the options for making the b20 faster & in the end I could have spent £1000 on the engine but it still wouldn't have had the power/torque of a b25 so in the end I got a b25 swapped in. I still have the original engine but I can't decide on wether to build it up to a b28 or save up & ...

Re: Reliable, trustworthy garage in West Yorkshire.
Thanks for the replies, I did find someone to give it a good look over & drop a M20b25 in it too. He said it was nice & clean with not real rust in the problem areas apart from the front & rear arches. The rest of the work I can now do myself & for the odd but I can't I'll run it down the road to ac...

Meyle products.... Any good?
I'm currently looking for engine mounts as I'm having a M20b25 put in my 320 & while the engine/box are out I may as well change all the mounts for what they cost.
I usually use febi or Lemforder but Meyle keep popping up & seem to be more available.... So has anybody used them & do you rate them?

Re: Squeaky engine, rising temperature.
It was the fan belt, I changed it this morning & it's now quiet so hopefully it isn't the the water pump as I've just bought a M20b25 to go in so don't really want to spend any more on the current engine. Mine has one of the alternators on an adjuster bolt that moves side to side as you turn the 19m...

Squeaky engine, rising temperature.
Evening all, Just been out for a quick drive in my 320 & about 5 miles from home the engine started to squeak & this coincided with the temp gauge going up. I popped the bonnet but everything seemed to be spinning ok & the squeak seems to be coming from the back of the engine. My temp has always bee...

Remote central locking.
Afternoon all,
Do any of you have remote central locking that isn't part of an aftermarket alarm? I want to install remote locking but don't want an aftermarket alarm due to so many having problems, I just want to be able to unlock/lock without using my key as it's getting a little worn.
Cheers

Evening all, I've just been out to drop my wife off at her Xmas do & when I've got home I've noticed the rear drivers side door is sitting on the latch, as in it's shut but not fully if you know what I mean? Re: Brake calipers/discs 320 vs 325
Are the 320-325 front callipers the same? Wiki states that there are only 2 types 6 cylinder engines & the 4 cylinder ones. Is this correct as I'd like to pit vented discs on the front if it's possible.
