Re: radiator
the e46 radiators are all the same from 316i to 330i! they are the same size of the 535i e28 one! i have already a e36 318is radiator but it's very little, my m20b20 radiator is pre restyling and it's really tiny! but you're right i didn't thought about the expansion tank... where must it be plugged...

Re: lightweighted vibration damper?
thanks for replies and sorry if mine is late but i was out for holidays ok so that's better to leave it as it is... however i've seen on r3v that it is made in 2 pieces as jason said but i think that the rear one can be machined, since the balancement was done by drilling the piece in front, the one...

Re: M30 needs a rebuilt?
i bought the main bearings set for 50$ for the m30 and the rings made by goetze (one of the best brands) for 99$ for honing the engine you only need to buy a flex hone, always on ebay.com you can find them for 50$ shipped, then you need just a drill and in a half hour you will have a perfectly honed...

Re: M30 needs a rebuilt?
some news: I get to a machine shop and i also asked a tuner and they say my engine is still good also if out of tolerances. So now i bought a new piston ring set, new main bearings (axial crankshaft play was excessive) and a new head gasket set. I will re-hone the block using a 3" and 3/4 flex hone ...

Re: M30 needs a rebuilt?
maybe i found a jetronic m30b34, anyone knows if my b35 head fits on the b34 block? that will be great because i will join high compression (10:1) b34 block with big ports of b35 head and motronic injection!

M30 needs a rebuilt?
Hi all, I just bought an M30 to put in my 320i, but it isn't in good conditions... the donor car, a 735i e32 had 300k km, i cannot test if it runs, so i removed the head and measure the cylinder bore. I found on the net that the tolerances for the b35 cylinders is from 92.00 to 92.01, it's allowed a...

jetronic M30 in jetronic e30?
Hi guys, tomorrow i will bring home a 1984 320i and i know it's jetronic, how's about swapping an M30 into it? here in italy it's quite easy to find jetronic M30 (before 1982), can i use my e30 wirings or should i replace them with the M30 ones? i ask this because i know that motronic M30 can be swa...

i solve the problem just switching fuses, in particular fuse 10 and 21... you have to change them with new ones, not just cleaning contacts

Re: Added Weight (engine conversion)
reading on the net an M42 is about 100kg, an M20 is 117, M30 140 and an S50 (iron) is 150kg... obviously gearboxes are also heavier due the bigger engine... however i think that an M30 can be lightened about 20kg by removing A/C and idle valve an with a lightwightened flywheel i doubt anyone has a ...

Re: Any point in using wheel spacers to inprove handling?
The best way to improve the handling would be to raise the car up around 20mm, so that the suspension geometry is closer to as it was designed, and the tyre contact patch involves the full width of the tyre! The correct way to 'lower' a car is to raise the suspension pick up points in the shell, no...

Re: Bonnet Alignment
does it fit aligned with the fenders? if not you have to try to adjust it again and again, if it's aligned probably the car had a big accident and it has not been repaired well... however my e30 doesn't even have a seal, water enters a little but have never caused any kind of problem!

L-jet injectors i think are low impedance type, motronic ones are high impedance... i've read that you can put jetronic ones on motronic with resistors but i'm not sure about this!
