Re: Car won't start :(
After much head scratching, turns out it was the new MAF sensor that was fitted end of last year. I had the old unit in the boot so that was fitted just to test the theory, and the car started straight away. Still runs a bit rough, but I've been told that could be due to fuel in the oil as I don't u...

Re: Whats your car cleaning regime??
I can get pretty OCD with my car cleaning, I can spend hours on it. Snow Foam Rinse Wash (2 buckets with Wool mitt) Rinse as I go if its warm. Use various pressure wash attachments for wheel arches, underbody etc. Dry with microfibre towels Clean wheels and dress tyres. blacking products on any plat...

Re: Car won't start :(
Took it to a garage to be looked at and they can't find anything on it.
It sparks fine and the fuel system is running ok and nothing is showing up on a diagnostics test. Our mechanic is pretty stumped on it, so we now need to find more of a specialist to have a look at it.

Re: toyo t1r tyres
I bought Toyos for my E30 based on how happy I was with them on my old Astra gsi. I felt they had a faster wear on them than other tyres I'd used, but I've never had issues in the wet or dry with them. They are a good branded tyre but in lower prices brackets. I probs wouldn't change fro what you ha...

Re: Car won't start :(
Thanks, I shall get them tested ASAP.
I'd rather test as many things as I can at home, rather than trying to tow it to a garage and pay someone else to eliminate things.
Nice diagram, that will be handy, thanks

Re: Car won't start :(
I shall check through those bits tomorrow when it's daylight. I fitted a new MAF not too long ago, aswell as new pipes to go into it, so there shouldn't be any leaks in that area. i did come across the mention of EWS but it seems that is on 93 models onwards, and my engine is from a 91 E34. Thanks f...

Re: Car won't start :(
ICV is connected properly. Found a stray pipe that comes from the top of the engine, breather pipe maybe? Everything else seems to be tight in place.

Just put the ignition on and it sounds like the ICV is buzzing, so I'd have thought that means it is connected fine. Just tried starting it again and revving it hoping it would continue to run but it still stalls.

Car won't start :(
Heya. I have a bit of a problem, the car won't start. It turns over and just at the point where you'd expect it to idle nicely, it stalls immediately. Because of when it stalls, it seems the battery and starter etc are ok as it does fire up, but just doesn't continue to run. I'm thinking it could be...

Re: Faulty AFM?
would the wrong temp reading cause it to use much more fuel than normal?
it sounds like its flooding sometimes, like its choking, and really struggles to keep running. It is odd though, sometimes the revs sit really low and sound like its going to cut out and other times it revs high (this is on idle)

Re: Faulty AFM?
I've changed the split pipe after the maf, got new grids, checked everything else and there is no apparent air leaks. It was still running very rough so I took it to a garage for a diagnostic test and they say that its showing a temperature of -40. I've had to borrow a car until I can figure out wha...

Hi, I sent an email about 2 weeks ago, as I needed some parts, but yet to get a reply, so I'll post it on here instead. The parts numbers are 13541726634 - Rubber Boot 13621730087 - Protection Grid x 2(the diagram on realoem only shows 1, but the car seems to have 2, one either side of the MAF) 0712...

Re: Faulty AFM?
Just had another look, and the protection grids either side of the MAF are damaged, the one nearest the front of the car is very damaged while the other only has a small hole. could this be the cause of the problem?

Faulty AFM?
Hi, there. I have an M50 conversion, and when I started the car today, it was ok, but the more it was running, the more the idle changed. The revs stayed the same, but it sounded very rough to the point where the car actually shook. I checked all air pipes for leaks, all seemed ok. I had a quick loo...

What sort of size spacers can you get away with before it starts causing any issues? I will try them 1st and then if that doesn't work, I will have to get shorter springs

I've gone through a very reputable company to get them, but they never mentioned anything about springs, unless the wires have crossed somewhere, and manufacturers sent out the wrong ones.

How to find wheel offset
Hi. I'm having issues with my new suspension (its sits too close to the wheels to be able to lower it) To be able to try and resolve it, I need to find out the offset of my wheels. I've looked up on the internet but cant seem to find anything. On the wheel I can see the width etc, but don't seem to ...
