Re: Sony XR-C350 flip front head unit removal?

There's a specific tool for each make of head unit. Halfords do them for most brands.

Alternatively you can use two thin flat head screw drivers either side of the head unit and fiddle around until you find the release clips each side. Take the black plastic surround off first though.

Replacement exhaust opinions

I have a 1999 E36 Compact (M Sport) and I need to replace the rear section of the exhaust. I can get a standard box for £100 but if I'm going to replace then thought maybe go for a slightly sportier version. As funds are a little low at the moment I don't fancy spending more than £200 so have been l...

Fuel leak

When filling with fuel I then get a heavy leak until the tank reduces to approx. 2/3rds full then it stops. I have to replace the expansion tank a month or so ago as the previous had a hole in it. Can't actually tie down where the leak is coming from but seems to be around fuel filler neck/tank area...

Prefer the original on a chromie. Think it detracts and looks non-standard.
I'm not a purist as mine has quite a few mods...just my opinion.

Nice car by the way.

Re: Misfire/spluttering M20

No idea to be honest. Not in my ownership (2.5 years) and haven't seen any paperwork to show this has been done previously.

If it is case of injectors being refurbed how long would this job take for a garage to complete?

Misfire/spluttering M20

I have an '89 325i Touring which has covered 185k. It developed an problem last week where the engine seemed to splutter and loose power and felt like it was about to stall. I have since had the distributor, HT leads, spark plugs and rotor arm replaced, had a compression check (which came out fine) ...

Heavy steering

On occaision my steering seems to get really heavy. It doesn't happen all the time but seems to be getting more frequent. I know it probably needs the P/S fluid changing but as it seems to come and go I wouldn't think this would be the culprit. It's an '89 325 Touring by the way. For example when I ...

Tracker? It can be an expensive option but a least you are guaranteed to get the car back fairly quickly if they have bypassed any other security you might have chosen. For the sake of maybe £700 to fit and activate it's an option, although there is an annual charge to keep it active. This should br...

OK...old wheel off, new wheel on...only problem is horn now not working. The old tech 2 had two wires brown (presumably earth) and black. Re: where do you get the yellow headlight tint film from?

I have Lamin-X on the inner front lights on my Alpine White touring. IMO look pretty good. You can get pre-cut for E30 from the US and it's virtually the same price (inc postage) as a sheet ordered from UK, which you'd have to butcher yourself. I couldn't find as pre-cut from a UK supplier. Maybe I'...

Retrim or not to retrim?

Got a Tech 2 wheel at present that could do with a retrim.

Contemplating maybe getting a non-BMW (probably smaller replacement) or just keeping the Tech 2 and getting it recovered.

Opinions?....

Also, anyone know a good quality retrimmer in he Redhill, Surrey area?

Hi guys and gals, I have had an issue with a strong smell of petrol fumes.
