Re: E39 540i..... Surprisingly good!
Copied Danthe's single silencer delete. Little bit more rumble at low revs but still silent at idle. It's all good but expected it to make a bit more din if I'm honest

Re: E39 540i..... Surprisingly good!
They are 'comfort' seats. A rare and pricey option in a 5 when new. Shame the person who ticked the box was colour blind. few things in life are as grim as a grey interior , especially in a silver car :( Each to there own indeed! :D :D wouldn't have been my choice! I was just glad it didn't have th...

Also without checking the bill of sale, what is the option I have which splits the seat back half way so it can be adjusted by a separate switch? I've not seen it before (I'm hardly a guru thougha˜‚)

You can see the seat back in the pick

Only the very best E30 owners daily dog! the e39 540i :D Honestly though, when the wife's new TT arrives in April I'm not sure I will be able to let this go! The V8 is like a drug, even just lazily cruising around is a treat that you don't get from a 6'er. I've been looking at the b10's but are the ...

^^^^^ooh, face lift Alpina splitter! Did you buy it yourself? only seen one on eBay from Poland. Would like one plus some drop for the comedy suspension. Mine corners quite well on the 18"s but leans quite a bit. Also quite fancy doing the rear silencer delete. http://i65.tinypic.com/jujvv...

E39 540i..... Surprisingly good!
Just picked it up for the wife to use until her new car is delivered as I've already sold hers. (Extra money I got for selling now rather than trading in paid for this 540i) What a cracking car! I've had m52 powered one on a 1999 plate but his is a world away from that, and for new fridge freezer mo...

When I was a young kid (circa 1986, age 4/5) a neighbour had a white 2 door, I think it was a 320 as I remember the sound it made had me hooked, had bottle tops and I loved it! At the same time my Dad announced that he was getting rid of the Rover SD1 and was getting a 3 series!! I was beside myself...

Re: E30 318is help needed coilovers
They move the wheel forward slightly and improve castor. This helps the car to feel more stable at speed and improves the self centring properties of the front suspension. Ok that's interesting! My "is" is running full polybush, Bilstien B4's, purple rack and new toyo tyres but I think it still fee...

Be carful to read the description of the cheap ones as I think some of them are quite extreme, one was advertised as shortening the lever 4" That seemed a lot!

This weekend fitted a short shift using the wiki for advice. What a great mod! Totally different feel to the car, I'm guessing that losing the big rubber thing from the middle of the original gear lever helps no end. Not much point posting pics though... I always liked the look of the chrome models, I think the smaller tail lights look better. Having said that, all three of the chrome ones I have had were total rot boxes! Looked lovely on top but crusty as a tiger loaf under! I think the later sport looks better than tech 1 plus no early "is" which ...

Yes they have gone up more % than houses, I read a thing on investments over the last 8 years, Higher interest rates for savers will kill it but can't see them coming on too fast either.

Re: 318is values?
It's fairly typical of cars of the age most are shagged but a few are kept mint, the ones In between are getting rare, I've not seen a very nice one sell for £1700 in a while now, more like £2500 I would think. I think it's a slight knock on effect of the last few years of mega M3 prices pushing ave...

Re: 318is values?
I think a £3500 car need to be pretty spot on but what you need to consider is that a £2500 might need a little bit doing, maybe a little bodywork, a new exhaust and a bush or two. Before you know it you have spent the extra £1000. It does depend just how good an example you want, a £2500 318is shou...
