Re: e36 318iS 4 door 4 wheel alignment
Hey Omi. Eveything on the car was oout bar one thing (forget what it was now!). I have changed the rear trailing arm bushes, so that had thrown out one element on the backs. Also, as soon as i bought the car, i changed the entire suspension to that of a cheapie aftermarket setup (dampers / springs)....

Re: e36 318iS 4 door 4 wheel alignment
After an appprox 235mile round trip, the car feels almost 100% perfect to drive.
The only think i can think of now is that the steering rack has a little play in it, so a Z3 upgrade may well soon be on the cards!

Pete.

e36 M44 318iS (good MPG on a long run today)
I have just gotten back from an approx 235mile round trip in the iS. We drove the Manchester, then on the way back stopped of @ Leeds, then back home to Teeside. I filled up @ the local Asda (109.9) & reset the trip meter, also resetting the 18 button OBC. At the end of the journey i have managed to...

Re: Clutch fault on E36 compact
This is a complete guess, but... Maybee the seals have gone on the master cylinder on the back of the clutch pedal? I'm only saying this as when i used to own an e30 325i SE, the car had the same problem. It was possible to overcome it by pushing the clutch pedal fast & not resting your foot on it. ...

Re: New car, new questions.
I know this is the wrong car.
I have an e36 318iS 4 door (last of the e36 on a '98 plate).
Mine had black shockers, untill i changed them for some aftermarket ones, which are also yellow.
I'm sure someone with an e30 318iS will be able to guide you with a definitive answer soon.

Pete.

Is a rack from an M3 acceptable to use as an alternative upgrade?
After checking www.realoem.com I have found the below.

32131095962 e36 rack
32131095963 M3 rack

Z3 steering rack, where to buy from?
A Z3 steering rack would be a nice upgrade to my e36 318iS M44.
Where is a good place the source one of these?
I have tried EurocarpParts & they are prepared to takemine in exchange, even though its not a Z3 rack.
Works out too expensive for my tastes.

Pete.

e36 M44 318iS 4 door feels down on power (maybee?)
Ever since i have bought my e36, it has felt a little 'ropey'. I did a compression test quite a while back now & one of the pots was a little lower than the other 3, i forget how low is actualy is. This then set the paranoia in. Don't get me wrong, it's possible to redline the car in 1st through to ...

Would it be worth while putting a MegaSquirt system onto my 1998 M44 e36 318iS ?
It could be a building block onto other things eventualy such as adding a S/C.
What MS system would be best for me & could i just run the car without any other modifications on an MS setup?
