How to know if it is a Motorsport

There is an ad up at the moment saying the Motorsport edition started in 1988.

My car is a 1986 and has M badging on the steering wheel, gear knob and interior door locks. It also has 15" BBS wheels. Not sure about the suspension.

What have I got?

Re: After Market Performance Exhausts Opinions/Experiences?

BMW spent millions in R and D,and pretty much got things right. However,Alpina and other well respected tuners managed to get more out of the M20 with head fettling(talk to Simon13)and different exhaust systems. Stock system from the dealer will not be a cheap option, but will fit perfectly and 'sou...

Had the impression (from reading other bits of the Net) that you can run it on classic policy but you never build up/keep any no claims so therefore after a couple of years you've lost the no claims discount you've built up over the years incase you change your mind and go back to a typical car.......

Leather refurb kits

I have seen a couple of DIY kits on US forums do great things to scarred and worn leather. Do any UK e30 owners here have a favourite? I hope to rub in the stuff to fill the cracks and then make the black more black, perhaps with a dye? Or is it not right to fill the crack with gunk?

windscreen trim

I can't find a thread about sourcing new the plastic coated alloy trim that embeds in the windscreen seal. A fitter tells me the Mini trim is similar but will be slightly raised and the join cover won't go on. This sounds ok but if it is still available new I would prefer to do that. Is there a supp...

Re: Am I too picky?

Update! After nearly 4 years I found one having made compromises just to get one in good nick. 1986 325i Convertible Sport with 15" BBS wheels in white with black hood and black leather, 71,000 on the clock - £3500. I have been looking nearly weekly, waiting for a really tidy one to come in at under...

Re: BBS caps

I've got plastic ones and they just rattle and when I try to take them off to gob them from behind they just spin round. Do they not screw off? E30 BBS type wheels don't have all plastic caps. If E30 caps spin right around, then the catches are badly worn/chipped, and should come off easily when yo...

1st time owner with some questions

Hi All I finally bought my first e30 325i convertible. I'd love to show you it but i can't work out how to upload jpeg pics yet, if indeed it is possible here? I'm already looking for quick solutions to get a better exhaust tone, better throttle response and perhaps a touch more power. It seems a bi...

Re: Am I too picky?

Hmm yes I had heard the aircon is not so good on them.....but it is traffic jams in summer with hood down that are really unpleasant. It made me not remove the hood on my last cars (spitfire and x19). So, get one without aircon first and if I still feel the want for aircon, get a used one, perhaps f...

Am I too picky?

Problem is, I sometimes see one with all but one of the features I want....mostly aircon is the p...
