Inner and Outer Arch Question Pre-facelift vs Faclift
Hi all, I am looking into repairing my n/s arch on a pre-facelift 2door. Is the inner arch, and then presumably the outer arch, the same for a pre-facelift saloon and convertible? I think I'm right in saying the pre-facelift has different arches to the facelift (I also seem to remeber reading they h...

Re: Where to buy a Rear Inner Arch Repair section
Looks like Hadrians don't do any inner arches nor a rear arch panel for a pre-facelift!
should have checked this before removing it I think!

Will a pre-facelift 320 Starter motor fit a facelift 2.5?
Hi,
As title really but on my 1986 M20b20 the starter has two electrical connections that can be bolted down and then a spade connector. Can this be used on the Motronic 1.3 loom as that seems to have an extra wire?
Thanks in advance!

Gearbox, clutch, flywheel, engine assembly?
Hi, I've sourced most parts separately so was wanting to check i'm not missing anything when i put it all together. M20B25 engine, b25 gearbox, not sure about clutch plate, flywheel. Think flys are the same - is there a diff between clutch plates? 1) Put spacer (2mm ish) onto crank flange 2) Bolt fl...

I think you're meant to sand it down to 1500 before the laquer anyway?

Re: Finishing spray can paint job...
yeah rubbed it down with 800. its just like the paint comes out in big specks rather than a nice fine mist! I knew halfords rattle cans wern't great but theres no way this would work without rubbing down after! or maybe i'm just not getting enough paint on there...trouble is it then runs.

Finishing spray can paint job...
Hi, I've done a little repair using a spray can. Colour is plain black with no laquer on top. The finished is poor and 'rough' to touch. Whats the best way to smooth it down? I tried 1500 wet and dry (which will take ages to get down to a nice flat finish - must be lots of tiny 'lumps' of paint) and...

Re: Some Exhaust questions...
The flanges look like they do in the link - more confusingly they list the same mid section/backbox for the 325 engine thats in the link, although they have the twin system if you look under rear exhaust sections! I think you're right - full 325 system the easy option. Just didn't to have to pay out...

Re: Some Exhaust questions...
Thanks for the replies. So I could in essence keep the 320 manifold (pre-facelift - 3stud), downpipe, center section and just change the backbox and have the same or very similar system to the 325. OR are the pipe diamters for the center section different. Are the diameters of the 320 manifold the s...

Some Exhaust questions...
At the moment I have a 3 piece system from my 320 - with single pipe on back box. I'm fitting a 2.5 engine and from what I can make out the exhaust manifold is different (although I've also read people saying its the same!). Are there any parts that are the same? Backbox obviously isn't but what abo...

Prop question..Auto/manual 320/325
Hi, Just wanted to clear something up. I've read on here that the 320 and 325 driveshafts are different. I currently have a 320 auto and have got a m20b25 engine and 325 box to go in. Do i just need the front half of a 325 prop (assuming rear halves are all the same). RealOEM has the 320 manual bein...

cheers guys. Sounds like it should all be ok. Do I use the 2.0 flywheel etc?
Rav/Town325 - I'm actually trying to source the parts for a manual conversion at the same time as fitting the engine so if you have any bits as well as the box drop me a pm. Cheers

Will a box from a pre-facelift 320 fit ok onto a facelift 2.5? I understand that the pre-facelift has two box sensors and that i can just bung one of those up? Presume the flywheel, clutch etc from the 320 will be ok aswell?

Oh ok so no wiring issues then...maybe i was reading about putting pre-facelift into facelift then.
So I can use the 320 manifold but just better to use 325 exhaust? Starter the same?
