Stonks - re the steering linkage UJs, what engine mounts are you running? Mine was clear when stationary (and indeed on most corners), but when driving hard, it caught on left-handers as the engine moves across unless you have uprated/solid mounts.

I'm about to fit a new adjustable beam and "new" trailing arms after having a slight "wheel-to-barrier" incident. Also going for different bushes (?) which mount the beam to allow lowering w/o the other issues.

Does it matter which E46 rack is used? I had one of these fitted. I thought it was from a Compact, but the link says not. Mine's a prefacelift so had to drill an additional hole in the front. Wasn't a big deal to be honest. Unfortunately, I do have to remove the guard to change oil as it is pretty close to the sump plug. I run one of RPM's steel guards on my track 325i. It has 16 x 1" holes in it (approx size). Temps are never above 85deg C on track and a lot lower on the road. Not sure what they'd be if it didn't have the holes in it.

TBPH Hoobs, not had any problems with it. But I really haven't had much water ingress on track. Really only an issue if left out in the rain - on on the rare occasions I've washed the car!

I get some water ingress, but as you say, with no carpets, it;s not too much of a problem (
unless it rises above the chequer-plate flooring).

How much petrol was in the car when weighed? Take away excess petrol weight and passenger seat, allow for weight loss that a fibreglass bonnet and race battery instead of standard would give, and you are coming in under 1000kg.
