That's fair enough mate, but it's not "fact" is it? Some guy at a gearbox place told you there was nothing wrong with it, and so it's now "fact"? He thinks he's right, you believe him. An M3 gearbox should not make a chattering sound. That is fact. There is something wrong with it, somewhere. I thin...

The noise you describe in your original post is 99.9% likely to be the layshaft bearing in your gearbox. Get the box rebuilt, it'll be lovely then. Oh, and get a lightweight flywheel in while you're there. You need to read my post above yours mate. It's not the layshaft bearings. I read it buddy, a...

OK, Its no big deal removing it, you might want to take the seat out but I did'nt bother, the four nuts are quite accessable in the footwell, from memory I think there is even an hole through one of the pedal arms for the extension bar to pass through. Good luck Thanks Biggee, I will take another l...

M3 Brake servo removal

Hi guys, The engine is currently away being rebuilt for my M3, and I am stripping the engine down ready for painting. I'd like to remove the brake servo, but it appears to be a bit of a ballache to remove. There appears to 4 bolts securing it to the bulkhead, but I can't reach them (LHD). I can get ...

Will these RS' fit my M3?

Hi Guys, I'm toying with the idea of getting some BBS RS for my M3. Will these wheels fit without spacers? If anyone has a picture of an E30 with a similar width wheel fitted that would be great. BBS RS in 16" Staggered set consisting of 2x7J fronts and 2x9J rears The offsets are ET11 and ET8 respec...

Cheers Dan, I did this today.

The paper came out pretty easily tbh, but the boot seal looks to be in good condition.

How hard is it supposed to be to pull the paper?

Cheers.

Took the M out yoday, a few issues... Need advice please

Hi guys, I haven't driven the M for a few weeks and took it out today and noticed a couple of new "things". Whilst driving at 60 mph I smelt the odd wiff of exhaust fumes (all windows closed). What could be the cause of this? It is a little unpleasant. At around 7000rpm (in third gear only FWIW) I c...

I have this all over the engine bay of my M3, does my head in to be honest.

It can be removed by polishing, but takes a stupidly long time.

If anyone knows of a way to get rid relatively easily I would love to hear it.

You could always get a set from a old 7 series mate, I think they look identical but the offset is slightly different so requires a small spacer. You might get lucky and find a set of them cheap at a breakers or a scrappy?

They look sexy mate. Not 1200 sexy though I know mate, just having a little joke. Best of luck finding a set, they do come up frequently on www.s14.net, those US boys don't seem to like them and they do go pretty cheap. There would be shipping charges and the associated ballache with buying from ab...

Sunroof drain - Advice Required

Hi Guys,

I wonder if one of you could do me a favour?

I need to see a picture of the area where the jack sits in the boot of an E30, with the jack removed. One that hasn't been welded or painted preferably.

Hi Folks, I recently fitted a Milltek exhaust to my M3. One of the tips arrived slightly damaged (see pic), it would appear it has been dropped in the factory of something. The dent is very shallow indeed, probably only travels 5mm of the length of the tip. The exhaust is stainless steel if that mak...
