I was quite pleased! It didn't really show it's miles though, only original parts were the shell, bottom end and a few panels!Cloggy Saint wrote:Still, over a grand for a rusty touring with no mot and big miles isn't the end of the world.

Yes, it was seen on CCTV, they watched the guy steal it! Took him about 20 mins to do it. 5 mins having a look around, then 15 mins in the car and under the bonnet before driving off in it. It's not much help though. Hood up means you can't make him out. I just can't believe it hasn't been found dum...

To update... The car has still not been found! I've now settled with the insurer too. For everyone's info, the car was an 1988 F plate with 216k on but a shed load of history. It was in pretty good condition too. I'm sure the rust was setting in though. The MOT had lapsed 3 weeks prior to it being s...

Really gutted as I loved that car! I'd just fully refurbed a set of BBS too.
Not expecting to see it again. Any damage is likely to write it off due to the value.

BEst way to replace/repair Electric Heater Valve?
So today, the passenger footwell gets soaked with coolant. Had a search here and it seems that the Electric Heater valve is likely to be the cause and on taking out the glove box I can see that it's wet. What's the best way to go about rectifying this? Do I just replace the valve? If so, what parts ...

Running those Nokians would see you still mobile all winter round. WAtch the link I posted earlier to see how good proper winter rubber is on ice.

Re: Touring rear wiper help
Did you try Brians method of connecting two of the pins by the switch? IIRC, this will prove the pump works (or not!)
"Pull out the switch, unplug it, and link the brown wire on pin 2 to the brown/black on pin 8 with a short piece of wire, and the ignition on. "

Bump need some help!
Have taken the motor out and cleaned it all out.
However, on putting it back in, my intermittent setting still doesn't work and now, the fast wiper setting doesn't work! Is there anyway to diagnose the relay itself?

Re: Touring rear wiper help
The pump is good, I tried it using Brian's method. This bypassed both the switch on the dash, and the switch inside the motor gearbox. Of the two, by far the most likely to be the problem is the one in the gearbox, which is often a rusty mess as a result of screenwash water leaking into the gearbox...

Re: 325 Stalling issues after battery change
I've just used this method to sort my car out. Have had battery problems for a while with it finally giving up this weekend. Put a new battery in this afternoon and then hit this problem with it not idling and needing revs to stay going, albeit lumpy as hell. So, went out and started the car, used a...

LOL @ Brian! I found a post from you back in December last year that's explained it! The exact problem is that I have no wash or wiper from the switch. It has worked, but died a few weeks ago. Re: Touring rear wiper help
If the switch lights up when you push it, then the relay (K9) and fuse (26) are both OK. Pull out the switch, unplug it, and link the brown wire on pin 2 to the brown/black on pin 8 with a short piece of wire, and the ignition on. This should make the washer work. Find the rear wiper control module...

Sorry... A conclusive 'what speaker sizes in my Touring'
My Touring came with no speakers in it, I'm going to be using it much more over winter so want to get a radio in there at least. After much searching, it seems that I need 13cm speakers for the stock front locations. But I cannot find a consistent answer for the rears, some people say 10cm, others s...
