I find the non switchable auto box in my M40 very responsive, makes driving in traffic much more bearable

Heater blower controls
I seem to be having a problem with the top of the three sliders which opens the windscreen vent, it will only slide halfway across and wont budge anymore,
The heaters are working fine in the footwell etc but i can't get any air at all blowing at the windscreen, has anyone else had this problem?

Also if its running rich it could be the Blue Temp sender, worth replacing as a part of a good service.

Gearbox Oil Filter
I'm trying to get hold of the above for my 4 speed box on my 88 M40, i spoke to GSF and they have said the part is number B12500 on there website which is for a 4 speed auto 7 series. Is this correct? also there website refers to it as a Strainer and not a filter. :? If anyone could confirm if this ...

After replacing all fuel lines on my 1.8 M40 i get 30mpg pretty much all the time, although mine is an Auto.

Nope, full instructions in the haynes manual, you bleed it by disconnecting the filler tube, take the bottom off and theres a filter inside that needs changing

Yep, definatly a rolling project, it's my only car. Has 130000 on the clock at the moment, but i cover a fair bit of mileage so thats going to go up quickly. Gonna service the slush box on it next as i need to keep everything reliable, i don't think it's been done in a long time by the looks of thin...

The lip on both rear wheel arches has rust, but not too bad, there is also some rust on the rear valence. I will be replacing one of the rear arches as it is dented, I've patched up the valence with kurust, P38 and some paint. I will give the whole underneath a coat of hammerite & waxoyl before the ...

Finally got round to taking some pics, picked this up for £200 with a full years mot. GSF have a Fuchs brand semi syth 10/40 for less than £15 for 5 litres, thats what i've stuck in mine

Excellent, just bought some goodyear high pressure tubing from halfords at £4 a metre 8mm was perfect thanks.

Hopefully someone can help me I have been trying to find the reason that my M40 has been doing about 20mpg! :? on closer inspection i have a bad leak coming from the fuel hose that feeds into the bottom of the fuel filter from the fuel pipe under the car, all over hoses seem fine.
