Re: How much are genuine staggered Alpina Alloys worth ?
being that they are so rare, one should jump on them if you get the opportunity and want them.
Took me 5 years to find a pair of 8's, then a buddy of mine found another set so I bought them too. Now I have two staggered sets

Re: Alpina rear wheel guards
thanks all, these are Alpina specific parts so I may try the Alpina route.
The set I have are part numbers 4100151 and 4100152, supposedly cabrio specific.

Alpina rear wheel guards
Anybody have the mounting measurements for these? Picked up a genuine set and hoping to find a pdf of the instructions/measurements before I drill into the chassis.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Gay? yeah ok. Here's a sneak peak of my cabrio. 24V, staggered Alpinas and a few more bits. Once its finished, i'll put some better pics up. I blew out 3 discs and had emergency back surgery on march 25th. Haven't touched it since. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c55/e30rapidic/Mobile%20Uploads/im...

I took the lifters apart in my US S50, soaked in carburetor cleaner and rebuilt. It fixed the tick on all but one....although I think it may actually be a header leak.
You can also try running quart of automatic transmission fluid for a couple of hundred miles before your next oil change.

use 21511204525 with the M20 clutch setup and zf trans. I tried it with the regular m20 throwout bearing and the catch point was practically on the floor. I swapped in the 525 part number and its close to where it was when stock.

Diable- agree with you there mate, I think the E30 has a much bigger following over in the States. It's the car that really launched BM there, and we had already had the 02's and the e21. Having lived in both places, I can say this is true. The younger crowd is really getting behind the e30. 02's a...

Re: M30 AFM AND 19lb injectors on m20
for the M30 AFM, make sure you get the one ending in 027. The other part number needs to be fiddled with to get it "set" properly, not so much plug-n-play. Someone I know dyno tested just the injectors and MAF "upgrade" and got a whopping 6 peak horsepower. I ran the injector/AFM setup with a BMP ch...

M3 uses a 22mm slave, non M's use a 20mm slave. Only difference is pedal feel, no difference in travel or catch point.

Re: M52 with M20 flywheel - high clutch biting point
I have a US S50 with the zf transmission, running a lightweight single mass M20 flywheel and stock type 325i clutch masters stage 2 clutch kit. I originally had the stock 325i throwout bearing installed but my catch point was just off the floor. No good so I installed the taller 323 throwout bearing...

Cheap way is to buy an non lighted emblem and carefully scrape the paint out of the gate pattern. Might be a bit "council" as you guys say but it works. My first lighted shift knob was done this way, I now have the one piece boot/knob.

Re: Lightened Flywheel & Shortshift back to standard?
I beg to differ...I have a 11 pound flywheel on mine and it will idle rough as anything with the stock idle speed. There is a night and day difference in the smoothness between the two chips and their respective idle rpm's. I've run the lightweight flywheel on M20 2.5's, stroker 2.8's and an S50. It...

first thing you need to do is check out and see what ratio you actually have in there. 318's came with 4.45, 4.27, 4.10, 3.91 and 3.64 ratios.

Re: Lightened Flywheel & Shortshift back to standard?
a lightened flywheel will certainly affect the idle smoothness. I put a lightweight flywheel in with my S50 swap and had the idle bumped up to 900 rpms for that very reason. Nobody can tell. A cheap fix would be to adjust the throttle cable at the throttle body; bump the idle up just a bit to see if...
