Still dwelling on what to do here as the car is in bits and now is the time to go for it. Okay, let's geek out some more on minty fresh parts...! Dug out some more bits today in preparation for Monday down to the bodyshop. It's £400 for the part. I'm sure that's what Karl at the BMW parts section will do it for. Maybe less maybe more - you know how BMW prices fluctuate wildly. Factor in £800-£1000 for labour. Remove trim and grind out old skin, weld in new skin and smooth joins, prime, paint, waxoyl and sealer, re-fit...

The roofskin was about £400 heavily (I mean HEAVILY) discounted. I had it delivered to the nearest dealer to the bodyshop and they collected. You don't want to move that stuff about too much. The head unit retails for around £800 but I got it here for £600: http://www.aliencaraudio.co.uk/product/Bec...

So I'll leave as is - it rides pretty tight anyway. I'd like ...

You could also talk to PacerPete or Ant at A-Tech but they are a bit further from you.

PacerPete may spit on your car at first but after that he should get the work done.

Ant is great of he can find space for you he's always very busy.

Go to Cooks Ferry in Enfield (0208 804 2002). They are not far from you and know E30's inside out.
They also supply parts and have an bake spray booth bodyshop so offer a full service from paint to engine to mechanicals.

Ask for Pat, tell him Rachid sent you.

Classic Policies usually come with a lot of restrictions such as limited mileage, the car must be garages and you must have a another (primary) car that is your daily driver - this is all to prove it is in fact a cherished car and you're not trying to get insurance ion the cheap.
