No, I would say eleven pounds and eleven pence. Or possibly 63 pounds and 63 pence. Who knows???

Re: 50p coins
Check your change site is very useful. Generally only mint coins are worth anything, but plenty of coins in circulation, especially £2 coins, are worth a bit more than face-value. 2k for a 50p is unlikely, unless that's some joker on eBay chancing his arm.

Re: Celebs and E30s
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten he does the ads for them now! I wonder if he got a special deal with them when he shifted his E30. A pony to do the voice over and maybe they took his 316 off his hands as well? Win-win for Schofield. And a free space in his garage now to fill with something else from the 80s,...

You lot should check out Nukrock on Soundcloud, he seems to sing about cars and steam trains and bears and things like that. I've liked a few of them, and I'm strictly east-coast, new-slow , big-train-spank-wagon-beach hut when it comes to music. So if I liked it then... you might too. He, or she, (...

Could be Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood. He likes 80s stuff and is a celeb himself. That's who my money would be on. Doubt it was Holly Willoughby, unless Philip Schofield has got her into the Zone. But then again I've never seen him post anything up or ask Brian for advice. Chances ar...

Re: Celebs and E30s
Lissen, cos this one IS 1000% true. Tawny Nuk (of Nukrock) has an iS. Genuinely, no word of a lie. It was originally registered in Manchester but then he got hold of it. Paid too much mind, cos it needed new wings, the manifold was blowing (still is), the wipers are all over the shop, no glovebox to...

Re: White 316i this morning
It was NOT me pal. Not only do I not have a white 316 (i or not i) but I was underneath the awnings most of that day trying to get my Scalextrics layout working again after a six month lay-off. Luckily, with a bit of WD and a bit of cleaning, it's all working nicely now. So, sorry, it wasn't me. And...

Re: Idle stutter - nothing left to replace!
Ok, point taken. So... New AFM, new ICV, new valve cover gaskets and bolts, new spark plugs, new oil filler cap, ALL under bonnet hoses replaced inc. intake boot (by Park Lane, the robbing bastards), welded manifold (Park Lane, still robbing bastards), new exhaust, new filters. Possibly some other s...

Idle stutter - nothing left to replace!
Tiny idle stutter on my M42 318is. Have tried everything over the years but still not quite right (e.g. new AFM, welded manifold, new gaskets, ICV, blah, blah, blah).
Even defeated Park Lane Classics.
Will I just live with it, or is there something obvious I'm missing?

Easy to use? Do I have to tap them in or drill them or owt?
Can you get them upside down?
Should I do all the threads or just the buggered ones?

Re: Valve gasket cover bolts...
Thanks. It's an M42. All the bolts are brand new from BMW (as were the gaskets)
An M6 helicoil insert, I'll have to research that.

Valve gasket cover bolts...
So, I changed the valve cover gasket and bolts etc. Some of the bolts went in nicely at 10 nm, some won't grip at all and keep turning forever. I guess someone at some point has stripped some threads in the block?

Re: Gasket change fail? HELP!
No, honestly I am not Ratch. I will check plug leads.
Is there some way of proving I am NOT Ratch for God's sake!!! He's competent. I'm not.
Why would plug leads be sitting in oil though?

Gasket change fail? HELP!
Changed valve cover gasket/bolts on M42. Now turns over but doesn't start. I don't want to try too many times for fear of wrecking it. There is a vague burning smell too.
I take it this is not normal! Help!!!

Re: Rocker cover gasket change 318is M42 - how difficult?
Getting my new gasket set tomorrow and have prepped everything. Any other tips? Gasket sealant (guessing no). Any specific order of putting bolts back in? Have set wrench to 10nm etc. What is there for me to mess up?
