Re: Leather colour?

I sent them the blanking grommet from the passenger door handle for a colour match. They returned it safe and sound and the colour match was excellent. They'll also keep the colour match on their data base for future reference :thumb:

Re: Car got knocked back on MOT - advice please

Ok no worries Mick. Thanks for the info Sanchez but I let the MOT lapse in Jan as I'm only looking to run it 6 months of the year now. With the benefit of hindsight I guess I should have got it MOT'd first. Think I'm going to get it welded so any suggestions on a decent quality back box, near to sta...

Car got knocked back on MOT - advice please

Apparently the back box is knackered and needs replacing. I've been quoted £25 to weld it up, £240 for a Bosal or £190 for a Tymax. I'm tempted to get it welded and get my ticket and source my own back box. They told me both the Bosal and the Tymax have twin outlets, same as the standard item and ha...

Re: E30s @ Night **photo competition**

Hmm, thats 2 sunset pictures. I dont want to be the person that questions the entries, but i'm gonna be. lol... Sunset flicks ok to enter? I thought we were talking nighttime, ie, when its dark outside. I agree. I'll withdraw mine and re-enter it into the sunset category... whenever that may happen...

Not often enough. Took it to France for a couple of weeks in summer and really made the most of having the roof down which was cool 8) but I've put about 4k on it this year.

Re: Thought it was time I uploaded some photos

Wow thanks for all the compliments guys. :o: Looks like the badge has got to go then. Here's a bit more info; it's got FSH, all previous MOTs and three previous owners. It's a 91 first registered in 92 by a woman who owned it for the first five years. It was then bought by a farmer who kept it for e...

Thought it was time I uploaded some photos

Don't know much about stance and I'm not a purist so whether that makes me a flat cap I'm not sure but if the cap fits, I'll wear it. winkeye It's a 91 325i with 72k on the clock. I've owned it for about 18 months now and love it just the way it is. I have no plans to drop it, tune it, stretch it or...

Replacing the centre dash vent unit

Has anybody replaced the centre dash vent unit? Mine has collapsed and I have a replacement sat there waiting to be fitted but I'm bothered I'm gonna make a pigs ear of it prising it out of the dash. Is it an easy job to do? Any pointers greatfully accepted :thumb:

Ah right! Yes it did have the plate surrounds but I didn't think they were dealer fit. I thought they were a Hallfords type accessory so I took them off.

Thanks JWaller360 :thumb:

Cheers chaps, mystery solved. I just have to figure out how to fit this cover now.

2 bits of plastic in my boot

I think the bigger one is something to do with fastening the jack in situ but I can't figure it out. If anyone has a photo to show it that would be appreciated. As for the smaller one I haven't got a clue... any ideas? http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/Pugmarx/Practical%20Classics%20E30%20Buyers...

Insurance question

How do you go about getting an agreed valuation? Do you suggest a value and they send someone to inspect the vehicle or do they just inspect the vehicle and tell you what they think it's worth? Does and agreed value guarantee that amount is paid out in the event of a claim and does it up the premium...

Can anyone tell me how to remove the headrests from the front seats? I have the seat backs off but can't figure out how to get them out. Thought I'd ask here before I lose my temper and bugger them up altogether

Re: Photoshop guru required

You can use a layer mask as in the tutorial or a quicker way would be to use the eraser with a soft edge brush and lower the opacity to say 50% then erase parts of the top layer so the lower layer shows through. I tend to use a layer mask then fine tune with the eraser. The advantage of painting dir...
