Try rimfurbish in Birmingham:
http://www.rimfurbish.co.uk/

They are the refurb side of Rimstock, who supply lot's of OEM's in the UK (think Aston Martin). Not too bad on price, and I like the fact that they use a production line arrangement.

Have you moved the car yet? It will sit high until driven a couple of metres.

Re:

I don't know what the spring rates are for the various options I'm afraid. Generally the shorter you go the stiffer it will be to control bump movement. Go with the most road focused lowered spring you can find for the rear, and the most track focused standard height spring you can find for the fron...

Re: how much drop?

Be aware that there's more to a spring than ride height. Lowering by adding weight will not change the spring stiffness, however the new rear spring will probably be stiffer than the old, and this will change the balance of the car - in this case giving it more over-steer due to increased load trans...

Re: wheel balancing, how often?

Wheels on E30's are hub centric so cone adaptors are the best way to centre, but the bolt pattern clamps are the best as they replicate the installed condition. For the best-best balance you should use a balancer with road force variation measurement (Hunter GSP-9700 for example), this as the name s...

Touring Rear Wash Wipe - Wiring Diagram Here!

Having struggled to find a wiring diagram before I started on this I thought I post one up now I understand how it all works. Credit also goes to BrianMooore on here who's notes gave me a good starting point. Wiring Diagram: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Salaubwq9mY/UILoyrxZPeI/AAAAAAAAAHw/n9TA...

Re: Sagging headlining!

Does anyone have a link to a 'how to' for touring headliner removal, the wiki seems to refer to coupe's and saloons's?

Looking to do my new tourer as well!

Re:

Ariels have to be on a geometric regression of the wavelength, so 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8th etc. Wavelength at the middle of the band is just over 3m, so ariels will be 3m, 1.5m, 75cm, 37.5cm.

Just puTting a manual ariel down a bit will work, but not as well!

Re: Wiper motor swap / fault

I just used halford's contact cleaner on them, but anything to remove crusty grease should work! I can't remember if the contacts were like little leaf springs - in which case they need to be set to press on the electrical tracks or if the were ball bearings with tiny coil springs behind them - in w...

Re: Wiper motor swap / fault

mwggriffiths friend here - not stalking you, promise!

It was the internal contacts I was talking about, as you guessed. The problem was fixed with a strip, re-grease and some attention to the contacts, making sure that they were clean and springs etc were working properly.

I would guess the new wheel is thinner, so the bolts go into the hub further, just flicking the handbrake springs as it rotates, check how many times it clicks per rev, if its only one or two try undoing a couple of bolts at a time to establish if this is the problem. I did this once, when I put a s...

Don't use builders sand, you risk getting silicosis. I got my blast media from www.acegrit.co.uk But you may want to try finding someone close to where you live, as transport is expensive.... I had to remove exactly that stud. I borrowed some spline type extractors, which are really good but couldn't get decent access to operate them. I ended up taking the manifold off and clamping the stub in a vice(tight) and turning the manifold. Luckily got away with only one sheared stud in the head...

Actually it wasn't an MOT! There was just some clonking going on and off power along with some axle tramp if I got any wheel spin of the line (Incidentally my friends 325i touring does this too and failed its MOT for these bushes - must be a weakspot) I'm also a bit of a perfectionist and decided I ...

Rear axle bushes what a bi$%h!

Just spent the weekend changing the axle carrier bushes on my touring, along with dropping the tank and trying to reseal it. In all I spent 18 hours doing the job and that was with the benefit of a 2 post ramp and hydraulic press. Respect to anyone who has done this on the drive! The only bit of the...

Gear shift bushes

Can anyone tell me whatÔš's involved in refreshing the shift bushes on my newly acquired E30 325i? At the moment itÔš's really sloppy across the gate (3inches!) and its just nasty to drive. Any help on what needs to be done, what parts I need and how long it will all take would be greatly apprec...

Word of caution on using different hole etc.

Make sure you don't move the axis of the rack around too much (vertically or fore-aft) or you'll introduce undesirable bump steer into the sytem, which is generally not nice. But if its tested and works for you, then great.
