Re: M20 overheating!!!!!

Yes will do further tests before we strip the head off

Radiator is 7 years old, so it’s in good condition as car is hardly driven. Just weekends and kept inside

My guess is water pump or blocked rad?

Think I need to change indies too

It's been warning you of impending failure, and now it's broke. An hour or two's maintenance, and it would have gone on for another thirty years. Note that the lid isn't designed to keep out all of any rain water, so as long as it's nearly closed it should be fine in moderate rain. One of the contr...

Re: Viscous fan

Yep, loosen the alternator, get the belt off, you can finagle it over the fan and get it out - then start up and listen. This will take the viscous fan, water pump and alternator bearings out of the equation - I fitted a cheap viscous a while ago - the car sounded like an F1-11 taking off and it re...

Re: Viscous fan

Performance is affected because there seems to be a lag when the fan is on and making that jet noise

Theres a fault that I can’t figure out and neither can the mechanic

Re: Whining after radiator change/full service

Could a failed engine mount be causing this whining. It’s a loud screaming noise when revving and de accelerating. Also noticed the surrounding plastic around the fan damaged from being hit.
