Beware, as this process does eat aluminium also.
Maybe coat the aluminium in varnish/lacquer that can be removed later (without using dichloromethane... that will also react with the aluminium!!)

Re:
Electrolysis is great. Another method you can use involves blackstrap molasses. Add a tiny amount of sulphuric acid to a 1:6 solution of molasses:water (this creates 'sulphured blackstrap molasses'). Leave it in a container (preferably in a warm environment, but not indoors as it smells very bad) fo...

I have a pair of genuine smoked Hellas. Can I swap these to the UK orientation by replacing the rear caps with UK versions? Are said items interchangeable?
Cheers.

I'm very sorry that the chromie project had to come to an end Ferg. I would've probably grabbed some bits too but only witnessed the aftermath... I hope some time later you're able to pick it up again.

Dark blue leather plus viking ancestry (I drive with the window open all year round; hmmm fuel economy?) = near death experience.

Obviously, genuine BBS RS are a beautiful thing and it's a shame the Borbet Bs aren't splits but they look lovely. Providing you don't have the black detail on the earlier pic above. Re: has this retrofit ever been done before ?
This would be pretty damn slick (in a 90s way) but it's a kick in the face of retro! I wouldn't even change my analogue clock to digital, let alone put the trip computer in there (despite being hugely curious as to my fuel consumption!).
To each their own but I would bet you're the first to try this!

Someone else could tell you if taking the boot off and repositioning how it's fastened could be a solution. I'm just guessing you can do that! Has she had a shun...
