Re: When you buy a Tech 2 Sport painfully hungover....
Every now and again i remember that i made this thread, and feel the need to update you that the car is still alive! It spent most of 2021 in dry storage but i gave it a wash down over the weekend and hope to get some more miles in this year. https://i.postimg.cc/mDqj6yCP/IMG-1408.jpg https://i.post...

Re: When you buy a Tech 2 Sport painfully hungover....
Nothing special to be honest, mostly basic maintenance. It has spent a lot of time in storage so probably covered less than 10k miles since it regained road legal status. The last big job was a new fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel pipes and fuel filler. I think that went in during early 2018. Rocker cover...

We all know these cars are never finished, so spent the last few weeks tidying up a few issues with the car. Now clocked up 1k miles since it returned to the road! Had a small piece of luck in tracking down one of the missing pieces - http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy328/MattMi16/325i%20Sport%20...

Toward the end of last year we managed our first BMW meet, which was local to me and advertised on one of the M3 forums. The car got some very kind comments, and a snapper took these: http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy328/MattMi16/325i%20Sport%20Resto/28986866064_c8f0111ee8_b.jpg http://i804.phot...

If you pop out the mirror glass you can see 5 plastic rivets which hold the mirror casing to the metal structure of the mirror itself. I ran a 5 mm drill bit through the plastic rivets to break them free, and when it came to reassembly, used a strong PU bonding adhesive between the remains of the ri...

Re: Sick of used silly prices!
Sometimes the morsels make for sound investment as they are so easily removed and sold on. If you have £2k spare in the bank earning 0.5% interest, why not blow it on the wheels, enjoy them for 5 years or so, and know that at any point you can re-sell for what you outlayed at the very least, if you ...

No there is plenty of clearance. They are a bit of a faff to strip down into component form, so the old set i simply painted the best i could, whilst they remained complete. Obviously you cant get a lot of paint into the 'hidden' areas though so it looked scrappy. The second set i stripped which inv...

Little Update on the E30. I had kind of rushed the paint work on the wing mirrors in order to get the car MOT'ed, and frankly they looked terrible in the nooks and crannys: http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy328/MattMi16/325i%20Sport%20Resto/DSC_0084%20Large.jpg So i picked up a spare pair, stripp...

Re: e30 sport
Why not? Lemforder still make E30 suspension parts for BMW. Exhausts require rustproofing and take up considerable space to store, demand is very low, tooling required to make them is huge, and that space on the factory floor is more profitably used elsewhere. And i may be wrong but most of Boysens...

Re: e30 sport
I have to admit i dont understand the 'Genuine BMW' thing. A manufacturer will have a 10 or 15 year requirement to continue supplying 'OEM' parts to a manufacturer. These are parts that have come from tooling paid for and owned by BMW. If E30 stopped production in 1993, we are long past that cut off...

Re: 325i sport | new to e30 zone
Nice looking car, but not meaning to be the barer of bad news, make sure you get it properly checked over for rust. My experience would suggest that if the rear arch lips have gone like that, there may be more or worse under the bodykit and in the nooks and crannies. Just have a good poke around as ...

Ill repair the houndstooth set and move them on, if i can sort the bolster its a very nice set of seats.

Upholstery Anthrazit Stoff - 0269
Production Plant MUNICH
My rudimentary german suggests anthracite cloth?? Would that be houndtooth or was there another variant?

Re: M52 Tech Two Sport - Finally MOT'd
Hmm i suspected the same to begin with. But then i was told that due to the car being an 88 build, it was blend of tech two/tech1. I.E using up whatever they had lying around at the factory.
