Thanks for that, I do agree with you. But itb's are expensive and I have a set of carbs in my garage
I still want to go down the 2.8 24v route so I was just seeing if bike carbs could be done for cheap, as o won't get round to the 2.8 for probs over a year and a m42 looks quick and easy

185 main jets? i ran 170's on my 1.8 16v corrado on keihen carbs. didnt know that r1 carbs would need that size jet, whats the choke size? 45mm?

carbs on a m42?
anyone have any experince of them? bike carbs really, im hopefully getting a new e30 soon (been too long without one!!!!!) and i think its gonna be a 316/18 so would like to do a m42 transplant but run it on bike carbs (no haters please) what would be my options for running a m42 on carbs? mega jolt...

As some of you may know I was going to do a 2.8i conversion on my e30, first I needed to get rid of some rust, no big deal..... Bit of bad news, ages ago I got offered a e30 with a 3.5 engine, full leather and a LSD. It was a non runner due to the guy never finishing it off. Anyway went to. See him the other day and he's now gonna keep it !!!!!!!! Hes found out that lsd's fetch a bit of money and is either gonna brake it or ...

i think the alfa 4 pots go on mk1 golf based stuff, i know the rear 4 pots from a 944 s2 go on the front of mk2 golf hubs, but all that has nothing to do with a bmw!!! how hard is it to fit e36 legs? as im in the process of buying all the running gear off a e36. well it will just be the hubs ill wan...

i have managed to get my dad to put me on his trade insurance, well soon
his terms, one car at a time on his policy, i have to tell him when im gonna be in a car thats not insured by me or him and i have to pay what ever the price goes up by.
but its probs gonna be worth it
