E30 Zone

i had a similar prob on 1 of my e30,s all it was is the big double size relay in the fuse box the big long black one that goes rite across the box changed this and everything worked as it should .

so that mystery is now solved wifes car has a 6 button obc can this be easily swapped for a 13 button like mine will it just plug in and work or is there a lot more to it.

hi yes it has a digi clock and outside temp gauge does this mean it is a ice warning gong on the wifes .wonder why mine aint got one it aint got a outside temp sensor either it just reads -70f or something

just had the under dash trim out of the wifes 320 and it has a obc gong fitted and wired up thing is the car doesnt have a obc it does have aircon and cruise but no obc not even the button on the stalk so why should it have the gong my car has no cruise or aircon but it does have obc but no gong alt...

well here goes fitted the ecu complete with wild chip from my 325 into the 320 it started instantly and sounded crisp when reved took it for a run of about 5 miles driving at 30mph it holds just over 30mpg on the instant thing on dash gave it some welly on the open road and what a differance over th...

will swap them over after the gp and give it a run up the road ( well hopefully anyhow if it runs)

maybe a good service might be a start was told it had been serviced recently when i bought it but dont know what was done other than cam belt and oil change

are the 320,s normally so bad on fuel compared to a 325 if it wont damage the wiring i may just try swapping ecu see what happens

if i fit a ecu from a 325 into a 320 will i gain any power and more important fuel economy my 325 with a chip is far better than the wifes 320 both cars are auto i now get about 28mpg but hers only manages 20 mpg next thing is it a strait swap over with no wiring probs

i think that would be called ringing . if your using a new shell no probs but if it is second hand i think you may end up with a q reg maybe better just to say nothing if your gonna keep the car just paint it same colour as old 1 .

yes but they will be for a LHD and wont fit past our steering colum probably

i have just changed the fuel pressure regulator and it is still the same it was second hand but was off a good running car running out of ideas now surely all 6 injectors cant of gone bad with it been stood

I changed the fuel pump relay today with a brand new one and with the plugs out and engine cranking over petrol floods out of each plug hole can anyone tell me if there is another relay that might be causing this or will it be stuck injectors or maybe the ecu . i have a 1984 320 and as soon as i turn on the ignition and turn the motor over it floods i have taken the plugs out and when the motor is turned over fuel floods out of all cyl if i remove the relay by the coil it stops flooding put the plugs back in and it goes for a few seconds plug in the relay ...

thanks for that have had the screws out and all looked the same as my lights so will turn them like you say and see how we get on

hi i have a 318 that was origanaly a uk car then it went overseas for a few years and the headlights were converted to lhd anyhow it has failed its mot on the beam dipping the wrong way but the lights have the original uk reg number etched on them so i belive they are the original ones i have looked...

my is is complete now and running just needs a bit of paint here and there and i will be slowly driving about

well central locking works just fine now on both doors boot and petrol flap changed the c/l modual in the door pillar and its all fine now thanks for your help

can the fuse be changed or is it a full new unit this car had loads of electrics not working when i got it no wipers no indicxators no horn the prob turned out to be the double size black relay in the fuse box car has spent a lot of time in the swun in spain like last 5 years could the heat have any...

where is the thermal fuse would the ecu still click when the door lock is turned if the fuse has gone and also the ecu seams to have a mind of its own it will click for no reason even when driving

the c/l dont work from anydoor or boot i was thinking of just buying a remote c/l kit of ebay for £20 or so and fitting that i take it i dont need the original c/l brain then for it to work or do you think we can fix the original system

hi there my wifes e39 aircon is playing up first off the electric fan was seized solid so i bought 1 and fitted it no probs then had the system regassed but when i turn the aircon to cold interior fan on full it still blows warm . the compressor clutch pulls in and the electric pusher fan works coul...

sure i did it rite but will check later today with a bulb another prob is if i try to lock the drivers door the key turns i can hear the micro switch click and also the ecu clicks but non of the doors boot or petrol flap lock not even the drivers door . if i push down the drivers door interior lock ...

hi can enyone tell me if there is a common problem that would cause the central locking relay in the driverside footwell to keep clicking all the time . the central locking does not work but when i turn the drivers door lock it does make the relay click . also in the same wireing there is a black 6 ...

i have a 325 auto touring and get less than 20mpg but it gets thrashed everywhere all the time

hi guys my indicators and wipers /horn have all stopped working the headlights and main beam work as do the hazard lights any ideas if its a easy fix and if so can you point me in right direction

guess i was lucky then changed both doors from a scrapper to my 318is and both fitted perfect with good gaps and lined up well .

aint done enything with the 318 yet Alex working on my 318 is at the moment bought a 320 yesterday for the doors boot lid and anything else i need so it is almost complete now and yes got quite a few now 3 and a half at work and my touring on road that is now sitting much lower and looking good

as above can i fit the clocks from a 320 into a 318is can the rev counter be changed from 6 to 4 cyl the car i have came with no clocks so i bought a spares car the dash has 3 sockets on the back 1 blue 1 white and 1 yellow i found the blue and white plugs but what goes in the yellow 1.

nothing to align if you look at the hinges they are in 2 parts the pin bit is a bolt on both top and bottom hinges just undo that and lift door off dont undo the 13mm bolts that hold the hinge to the door and pilar or you will have to adjust the gaps i know how easy it is to do i have just removed 2...
