Classic insurance can be restrictive in terms of criteria though, eg age limitations, usually needs to be a second car, limited mileage, garaged etc. We ffer a good alternative to classic car insurance so feel free to ...

Re: Best alarm for insurance?
I understand your point especially as for the OP he was asking in relation to premiums but I for one regardless of my insurers policy would rather my car didn't go missing and if an alarm was enough of a deterrent then great. Of course, for you own peace of mind having an alarm is always worth it.

I put my girlfriend on my insurance and it knocked £100's off last time. Mentioned it to a mate he says he put his girlfriend and Mum on his insurance to get it lower. I'm 31, 12 odd years NCB and still can't seem to get much below £500. Feel free to get in touch when you are up for insurance renew...

I meant more along the lines of this having not being declared!! He answers a question of insurance by saying nothing has changed on the V5 as CC is similar 8O I take that as not having been declared. Very nice 8) Could get v.messy with insurance if/when it gets wrapped around a tree at warp speed and drum brake/skinny tyre combo fail!!! Re: insurance help
It sounds like you need to involve either an accident management company or involve your own insurer, the latter will effect NCB if you put a claim in for any damage but if it is proven to be non--fault, NCB will be re-instated. Also, be aware, some insurer will load for non-fault claims. Ollie Sky ...

Re: Best way to deal wth Insurance company!
The Cat D does effect things unfortunately. The best way to value the car is how much it would sell for , in today's selling market, to a like minded car enthusiast (who is aware it is a Cat D). Post up some details about the car, mileage, and some pictures and see what other zoners think. Ollie Sky...

Re: agreed valuation from insurance
An agreed value is exactly that, you'll get paid that full agreed value minus policy excess.
You mention the car is cat b though, pretty much every insurer will no quote on that basis.

A price like that indicates our criteria is not met. We look for the best risks possible, especially for engine swapped vehicles.Cypriotgeeza wrote:

Re: Insurance for engine swaps?
And they rob you of NCB if you have over 9 years. I insured my daily driver with them (with the intention of insuring my S50'd E30 with them at renewal time), had 12 years NCB when I started and came out with 9 years on my renewal! - obviously should of been 13. Was told they only work to a maximum...
