Re: Cooling Troubles

The thermostat is definitely 88 degree and working, turns out the one i replaced is working too  I changed the brown sensor about a year ago when i changed the blue one, so doubt thats faulty, and if it was would it work at all? Re: Cooling Troubles

Heres a question, a stupid one, but, when your bleeding the system, is it normal for the heaters to blow warm air as soon as the top hose gets warm?

Re: Cooling Troubles

Also, all was fine before i replaced the water pump the other week, have not driven it since then because the crank sensor gave up the day after, so its probably something i've done or have not done, but i dunno, everything seems to be breaking at the moment

Re: Cooling Troubles

Just changed the thermostat an its still the same, checked to make sure it wasnt dodgy but its fine, anyone have any other ideas? Would it be an airlock? As soon as the top hose gets warm the heaters start blowing warm, could it be a dodgy gauge or sensor? Although the engine is getting hot. Ive not...

Cooling Troubles

I have bled the system in my car, all was well, all pipes were hot, heaters blowing hot and temp gauge was halfway, let it cool down an tried again. Temp gauge will not go over the blue, heaters blowing hot :?
Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
Cheers

Re: Polishing a newly-painted shell

If your worried about burning through do not use wool mops!! With the 105 use a firm sponge, keep it moist ( wet your hand an slap the mophead a few times an spin the polisher at high speed in the bucket to get rid of the excess water ), do a bit at a time, keep the speed low an you wont burn throug...

Right, 2 problems with my e30: 1, After replacing the water pump, bleeding the system, heaters blowing hot, all water pipes hot, no airlock? Topped up to max, which wasnt much an left it to cool down, tried it again, after about 5 minutes, temp gauge just over blue, heaters blowing hot. Airlock? Can...

Re: Engine Water Leak

Right, finally got the pump today, all went back together an the leak is sorted! Problem is, filled it back up with coolant, spent ages bleading the system with the heater on an all that, finally got the heaters to blow hot air an all the pipes were hot, topped up again, let it cool down an checked ...

Re: E30 Paintwork Help Major Problem....

Another problem is smart repairers use 1k laquer as it cheap, easy and drys much quicker than using 2k stuff, if you try paint over that in solvent base basecoat it will react with the shitty 1k laquer and pickle up, so make sure the bodyshop you take it to uses waterbased basecoats (no solvents to ...

Re: E30 Paintwork Help Major Problem....

Ooo, my bad, didnt see that bit, it has had a blow in, looks like one of them 'smart' repairs, you've rubbed the laquer back to the black basecoat!! Definately a bodyshop job, the more you rub the more paints gunna come off, obviously, you'll be back to the primer in no time!!

Re: E30 Paintwork Help Major Problem....

Did you leave the t-cut on there over night or something? Or was there lots of dust on the paint when you started t-cutting, that will leave billions of fine scratches making it look dull! I doubt you have rubbed through the paint, that would take some serious elbow grease an lots of rubbing!! Unles...

Re:

Right, ive just read through this an made myself a list, but im abit confused about the prop/gearbox combo, mine is a 91 316i, which i always thought was m40, i had a look in the back of performanceBMW, an it says all E30 316's are m10, is this the case or an error or something??
Thanks, Mark
