hi all the head gasket blew in my 316i. need info on whats my options?? no 325 conversions though!!!

fuel pump is ok and also iv bled the system properly.. any chance the head gasket went?? cant see no oil in water/water in oil. thanks so far for the replies.

hi all. my 316m40 has started overheating in the past week in traffic and drving, iv recently replaced the water pump,thermostat,fan coupling. i dont believe the rad is blocked as the heater works perfectly fine. i flushed the engine when i done the pump. also its developed a missfire through all th...

iv been doing alot of research on these lately and there only huge downfall is the swirl flaps breaking and getting sucked into engine causin untold damage, these can be romoved without too much hassle and dont have any effect on performance.. this only happens the 150bhp ones. the engines are ment ...

im e46 mad at the moment and a mate is going looking at a 2004 320d with 86k on the clock. we motochecked it and it told us it had 121k on the clock.!! are these web checks spot on? and also how hard is it to act mod the milage? some say its stored in 3 places? and if you take it to main dealer they...

Work for a main dealer and never even seen this happen on any M47 engines mate so would not worry. What do you do there, clean the bogs? M47's are very prone and the dealer I worked for was changing a lot of manifolds for concerned owners - quite a few had loose flaps about to fall out. well iv bou...

im currently at this job my self and its due the retest tomorrow and only managed to get them off now:mad: would it be possiable to take them a diff route or could that be a mot/nct fail??

car failed the nct today (irish version of mot) :cry: .because of two ball joints on the o./s of car wrer worn. man was not helpfull about exaltly which ones were worn. but my q is are the front control arms the same in all e30s and if the ball joint is worn do you have to get a new whole arm.? and ...

iv no real idea but i think something about keeping a vacum when engine is idealing. the flaps close. i not sure though

what milage cambelt change? m40 316i?
just wondering what milage should the belt be changed at? it was done at 60 or 70 k it has now 136k so is it well overdue?? car sold now only to be collected. told the fella its due. but just worried how likly could it break??

more silly questions but the owner sayes he replaces the breather valve every service and told me it helps keep the swirl flaps ok? is this true?? many thanks.

hi all. im thinking of buying a 04 m sport 320d with 93k on the clock. will plan to remove swirl flaps when i get the blanks. but even for the trip home after buying it im terified about them blowing the engine. :mad: . could you just open the manfold and make sure all the flap torx bolts are tight?...

i havent but iv had the car for the last 4 years and its past owners wouldnt bother chipping i dont think as it as a completly standered car

like a rev limiter, once it hits around 4k it does it. so if i leave off the throttle then back to idle, it splutters for a few seconds then back to running normal , you rev up to the 4k once again and same tin happens.?

haha sorry. i mean its still having the same problem as before i fitted the new cam. checked for air leaks all over and none. could it have some ting to do with any sensors or anything?
