Re: Touring roof liner repair
I had received quotes as cheap as £150 (replaced/refitted) from other companies, but I chose the dearest as they seemed uber professional and have been doing retrims for years . . . I was more than happy with the end result!!!

Re: Touring roof liner repair
They used the liner that was already in the car. It wasn't cheap as they spent loads of time removing the old glue to make sure the new lining/glue stuck properly and would never come loose. Also the material I chose wasn't standard roof lining material, I chose a thicker fabric that was superlush!!...

Re: Touring roof liner repair
I tried to repair the rooflining in my touring, I restuck where it had gone saggy and it lasted about a month or so. In the end I got fed up and had it retrimmed at Aldridge Trim in Wolverhampton, they did a fantastic job and it was well worth the spend as the cacky old beige one did not go well wit...

Have a look on the E30 Zone wiki page, there is a steering rack conversion section that may be of help to you.

Re: High tick over after changing air flow meter
Thank you Brian for the advice, yesterday whilst swapping the afm I did check the large air hose which seems ok, I will look in to the throttle position switch. Will have to revert to my recently purchased Bentley Manual for the TPS operation as I'm an E30 novice! I will look down the injector fault...

Re: High tick over after changing air flow meter
I was thinking of leaving it for a few days to see if it corrects itself, I remember when I had the battery taken off my other touring(2.0 Auto) that took days to reset itself!! Do you think I am on the right track with my original problem of bad idling/kangarooing? I'm no E30 or mechanical expert s...

Re: High tick over after changing air flow meter
I'm thinking maybe the afm wasn't the problem to start with. So questions are:
1. Do I change the afm for another one or leave it to see if it settles?
2. Could something else be causing the original problem(1st Post)of bad idle/kangarooing?

High tick over after changing air flow meter
Hi folks, Just wondered if anyone could advise me with a problem with my 2.5! Over the last couple of weeks my car has been hesitating when pulling away and also doing a bit of kangarooing whilst creeping along at low speeds. On friday when I was stook in traffic on the motorway the idle tick over w...

Geniune Mtec 2 Kit?
Hi Zoners I'm (hopefully) buying an Mtec 2 Kit for my touring this weekend, am I right in thinking each part of the kit should be stamped on the inside with a BMW Logo or part number if it's an original? I'm new to buying E30 bits and don't want to end up buying copy/fibre glass parts, any advice mu...

Re: Moving a SORN vehicle
Definately would not risk driving it, no way could I see it go to the crusher!! Unfortunately I don't have a towbar fitted to my car(pardon my ignorance, I'm presuming you need one for an A Frame!!) That's why I was wondering if I could do it with a solid towing bar fitted to the towing eye, but it'...

Re: Moving a SORN vehicle
Thanks for the info guys, the car has no insurance, tax or MOT!! Its no weighbridge dodger and it's certainly not a car I would like to lose to the law!!(I've been told they get pounded). Mmmm looks like I'm gonna have to find someone who can trailer it for me, can't believe you're not allowed to mo...

Moving a SORN vehicle
Hi Folks,
Does anyone know the law regarding moving a vehicle that is currently SORN, I know it can't be driven, but can it be towed?
I want to move my touring to the bodyshop for some work and was wondering if this is legal, the car has no tax or MOT.
Any info much appreciated.

Must agree, thule are about the best. Got a set fitted to my touring for carrying bikes around, no damage to the paintwork after a year of being fitted.
