the thing is the car is not overheating in any way, well ive flushed it out and the heater matrix for over an hour , now i will run it and see what happens.

cheers people il drain and flush it first then go from there if problem still there il remove head and pressure test it and skim it and use bmw head gasket.

didnt get head skimmed do you think its advisable, would'nt i get lumpy idle or missfire if head was warpped

got the head off a running engine with the original 2.5/2.7 stamp on the side did not have it pressure tested but carried out a full visual inspection

i started getting oil into the coolant so i done no more than removed the cylinder head and sourced another head , i removed the rad and coolant hoses and flushed out and fitted donar head with a head gasket from euro car parts, now im getting neat black oil coming in to the coolant bottle, the only...

AV3 side skirts

Can anyone post me a picture of a cab with AV3 side skirts on it, showing a good picture of the side skirts so i can see how far up the seal they sit, all help would be gratfull cheers people :mad:

are you sure they havent put the valve timing out when they did the water pump and the ticking noise is the vavle just kissing the piston, i had a similar noise when i had my head skimmed once and they took to much off. just another thought!!! :?

Hi can any one tell me if a schrick 284/272 cam would be lumpy on idle, i have just fitted one to my 325 cab and also had the throttle body bored out, when it is ilding it sounds and feels really lumpy , so bad that i have had to raise the idle to try to compenstate for this, but off idle its fine a...

i recently done a head gasket on my 325 when i drove it their was a missfire only when driving, under the inlet manifold there is a black round multiplug which is the loom for the injectors, this had come loose and was causing the missfire ,check that its tight

can anyone tell me what they think is an average price to pay for a second hand cylinder head for a 325i also what thel think of a shrik 284 cam for road use would this make the idle really lumpy cheers!!!!

if i was you i would disconnect all the solenoids then plug in your test solenoid to the relevant door because if all the solenoids have burnt out which is possible they could be causing a short back to the c/d/l control unit which will confuse it
