What are the dimensions for a diff back plate? Would an A4 sheet be big enough? I need to do and oil change and would be wise to change the gasket too.

I couldn't say for an E30 but an E36 compact bonnet weighs approx 17kgs

I had a carbon fibre one on my track car and it weighed iirc 5 or 6kgs. Massive weight saving.

There is an O ring seal to the top of the filter and I gasket seal for the sump. Just the two I could see.

Hi all

I wanted to give my auto gearbox a service, eg change the oil and seals. It's on an E reg, M20 B25 with approx 100k which has been sat for at least 10 years

I've drained and removed the sump. Where is the best place to get a service kit / oil, replacement filter and the seals?

With the fork there is a higher chance you will damage the rubber boot on the TRE. If you are replacing the TRE then - no problem - if not, best to avoid this method.

As above, a hard smack on the lower bracket of the strut should set the TRE free. No need for these tools

The Jaguar X type had a problem with this. If you parked them front lower than rear the cills could fill with water - never ideal! As said above most cars drain in multi directions though the drainage is always designed to work when the car is in motion and therefore water runs to the back.

Id suggest you use one you can add pressure by a screw rather than one you use a hammer. What benefit does that have over a tap set? I just use a tap to clean out old threads.
