Oilpump drive shaft cap

Is there an easy way to lift the cap out?
Im trying to leaver mine but its destroying the aluminium cap.

the bearing and shaft were good i did notice that the mounting plate was bent (may have been fitted with something behind it) and thought that that might have put the pulley out of line
i'm thinking it's a duff new pulley and i need to start again with a new tensioner and belt.

another problem i've got is the abs light is on due to the conversion and i can't find what wire i'm meant to splice from the dme relay to where?

after reading this thread and whilst stripping the front of my engine down for a motronic conversion i found my new cambelt had been rubbing, thinking it was because of the old tensioner i used i replaced it with a new one and guess what it's still rubbing. should i put this down to the new tensione...

motronic conversion questions

converting my car from motronc 1 to 1.3 just had it running but,
is the smallest of the three starter wires (black/green) meant to go to the solenoid earth?
if i put a chip from a 173 ecu in a 172 will it be ok for a 2.5?

i can't hear it but it does get voltage when cranking the engine

found a flat pin on the flywheel but not where i expected it at all. looked more like bdc.
how can i tell if it's the ecu?

I didn"t think it could be the relays as i thought the dme relay passed the power to pin 86?
will check for the pin. i assume if i line the front pulley up to tdc then it should be in line?

as above my 88 325i sport stalled on me and now doesn't fire I replaced the coil, dizzy cap and rotor arm but that made no difference. I've got power to the coil and continuity to earth but no spark. I've checked both the sensors on the bellhousing and they read ok. I have power to the main relay at...

Due to jumpstarting my car i have blown the abs relay. I tried to solder it but just made it worse. Where can i get a relay from bmw no longer stock them. my relay has a part number of 1 154 894.2 i have found a similar part with the number 3.904100 but still no one seems to stock it. no i dont think it could be as other electrical drains can cause the temp to shoot up.
ive had the needle bouncing to my music when played loud enough.

Water temp. gauge fault?

the water temp gauge on my 325i is affected by electrcal power drains. turning the heater on makes the needle jump up to 3/4.
Ive had a look at the nut on the back of the temp gauge and the si batteries, both are ok.
Any ideas what to check next?

spings and dampers were replaced a few years ago, also the roll bar and droplinks were replaced last year.
i have noticed the problem is there (intermitently) in second gear aswell but feels more like a judder than a wobble.

rear beam bushes were replaced with polybushes about four years ago.
the trailing arm bushes have never been replaced though.

What do you call the rubber pipe that gos between the throttle body and the air flow meter?
Mine has split and i need a replacement, can you still get them?

No i tested the bulb with a direct 12v supply and it worked.
I've now noticed a few of the service lights are not working. I reset the system and only the last few of the green lights where on?

Dash indicator light

Hi all, my right indicator light in the dash cluster works intermittently. I have taken the cluster out and removed the bulb but can't find anything wrong.
Any ideas?

Yeah found them but was looking for a quicker cheaper option, they don't have to be adjustable just standard length would suit my needs.

No i bought them from FK Automotive. The supplier said they dont come with collars.
I'm replacing knackered Bilsteins thats why i need a different collar.

i have the same problem.
i was just going to extend the wires as the longest sensor wires ive found are just under a meter in length.

Help. One of my dipped beam lights is not working properly, it is half as bright as it should be. I used a volt meter to try and find the fault but it dosent make sense. i think the facelift models have a lower rear arch to the pre-facelift.
Hence the slanted look or not.
