Re:
the bearing and shaft were good i did notice that the mounting plate was bent (may have been fitted with something behind it) and thought that that might have put the pulley out of line
i'm thinking it's a duff new pulley and i need to start again with a new tensioner and belt.

Re: 325i cut out on my way home now just turns over
I didn"t think it could be the relays as i thought the dme relay passed the power to pin 86?
will check for the pin. i assume if i line the front pulley up to tdc then it should be in line?

Water temp. gauge fault?
the water temp gauge on my 325i is affected by electrcal power drains. turning the heater on makes the needle jump up to 3/4.
Ive had a look at the nut on the back of the temp gauge and the si batteries, both are ok.
Any ideas what to check next?

Re: rear end wobble at low speed
spings and dampers were replaced a few years ago, also the roll bar and droplinks were replaced last year.
i have noticed the problem is there (intermitently) in second gear aswell but feels more like a judder than a wobble.

I've now noticed a few of the service lights are not working. I reset the system and only the last few of the green lights where on?

i think the facelift models have a lower rear arch to the pre-facelift.
Hence the slanted look or not.
