At the far left is where the cam and crank sensors plug in. The plug at the far right is where the injector loom plugs in.It is a amall seperate loom on its own. The 3 plugs you have circled are the coolant temp sensors and oil pressure switch plugs. The plugs beside the AFM plug,I think the 3 pin o...

Yes the lower pipe on the throttle body is basically coming from the cam cover(engine breather).Originally it is going through another funny shaped pipe below the manifold which has a metal water pipe going through it -> http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=AF92&mospid=47256&btnr=11_1272&hg...

On the throttle body the pipe to the left is not needed and be left blocked. The pipe on the bottom of the throttle body I am fairly sure the crankcase breather goes into (I will check this tommorow to be sure). The heater plate is not really needed so no need to put any pipes onto it.Infact you can ...

I have'nt fitted a M20 flywheel myself but from looking about it I have seen that most people use the 323i release bearing but some people have used the normal M20 one.The 323i one seems most popular and probably safer to use it as it is longer. You can't use the whole M20 starter as it wont engage ...

Re: E36 steering rack....
Mine is 3.2 aswell, still not fitted because im going to try to use a E36 'supply' pas pipe so that modifications are minimised. But the problem with that is that scrap yards have to drain all the fluids which usually means cutting the rubber section of the pas pipes, much quicker than doing it nic...

You would be better off using your origional gearbox I'd say as the E36 box has different ratios and they would be far too short.I am fairly sure the E36 has a direct 5th gear, where as the E30 one is overdrive. Looks like the throttle cable is different from looking on realoem anyway. I think your e...

The M20 flywheel can be fitted but does'nt fit straight on some metal has to machined from the back of it to give clearance. You need a M20 starter pinion fitted to the M42 starter too.I think you need a 323i release bearing also.I don't think there is that much difference in weight unless you get th...

On RealOem it seems to show the same part no. for the AFM on a 318i anyway,316i must be different. You can measure the coolant temp sensor with a multimeter but you need to knoe the temp as the resistance change with the temperature. It is the blue sensor you would want to try as the brown one is jus...

Although, I'd like to look into this 100w halogen bulbs or whatever it was... I don't think it is a good idea fitting higher wattage bulbs, such as 100w as they do normally melt the connection/wires.Some of the xenon effect bulbs might be a better idea, some of them work quite well, but some are expen...

The stone chip in the aerosol cans does'nt really give the right finish.A stone chip gun is not expensive to buy anyway - maybe £15 as long as you have a compressor so you can work it.universal wrote:you can get stonechip in aerosol cans!
