Thanks for the offers guys, will have to get funds sorted first :(, but let me know how much your looking for, mileage etc .

On a side note i'm feeling guilty, there can't be many m42 engines out there what should I do with the dud one.

:( Been there done that, annoying isn't it! Easier to source a complete engine and drop that in rather than remove the head and investigate. My thoughts exactly i'm going to have to buy a MK2 Golf gti to ease the pain while I sort it out, I did everything to that car to get it going gutted :cry: .

on my travels i've also come across some s50 throttle bodies at a bargain price, so couldn't say no.
It's like it was meant to be :D.

I think your bang on with the fuel injection conversion. economy AND performance makes sense.

I checked the halfords jack and it doesn't go up as far as the machine marts. What do you think guys.
