just put a 2.7in . tryed to start it and it would turn over but there was no power at the coil so there was no spark so it wouldnt start , checked the ecu and found there was no ignition live onto to the ecu (pin27) followed that back and found that the was power on one side of that white plug and n...

just done the same thing to mine and sorted it think the obc unit has packed in

after reading danny cs post ive learnt about a code function on the obc any idea how to bypass this or reset it ? i dont think ive got the code

just checked for that plug i couldnt see one but i followed the wire over to the ecu and to the obc relay bow and checked them and they are ok . do the obc relay boxs commenly cause trouble ? can i just link the circuit out at the plug or are there any problemscaused by doing that ? there isnt any s...

finally had time to get back to trying to sort my electrical problem . ive found that i have ignition power to behind the glove box to where all the wires connect into each other , but the wire that goes to the ecu doesent , there is a plug that this wire goes into and there is a red and green wire ...

this bit could get confusing lol , ive got a 2.7 chip , but its in a 325 ecu ,but the car wont run atol with the 325 /2.7 ecu but it will with the 320I ecu but obvisly the chips wrong .

will a chip designed for a 325I ecu work in a 320i ecu ?

update , still not working corectly ,but it is kind of running , it will run on the original 320 i ecu but not on the new 325 i ecu with the 2.7 chip ,

put power onto the ecu and its sort of starting now lol but not holding its idel quiet yet

yay . got it starting sort of , found a dodgy wire on the fule pump relay , and theres no power on pin 27 whic i think is the imobiliser .

ok just done some more check and if pin 27 on the ecu is 12v in im not getting power to the ecu . does any body have the schematics for the later motronic loom haynes is rubbish .

ok if what i think is the dme relay is wat ive just tested small light green 4 pin relay ? ,there is power from the 12v but its not switching , so if my logic is correct its either the ecu is duff , but ive tryed swapping it so i dont think its that the ecu isnt getting power ? or the wire between t...

if its what im thinking it is no its not clicking .

yeah still got original 320 i ecu that ive tryed just to see if it will spark and its made no difference .

sorry need to update that it wouldnt turn over . now got it turning over , earth starp has given up the ghost ,so now its cranking but wont run .

just purchased what seems to be a full scorpion system for an e30 , i have a six branch manifold so wont be useing the front section of the system . and will be retaining the gear box clamp . but im a bit confused as there are 2 hangers that are on the center box of the scorpion system that arnt on ...

yep got the toothed vibration damper of the later engine and the later tdc cranksensor from the 320 had a bit more of a fiddle , swapped the ecus over to see if it was the new ecu . made no difference still no spark at the coil . going to check the primary and secondary resistance on the coils next ...

thanks for the reply .yea got the lil bracket job on the downpipe but nothing where the original rear beam mount is and 2 hangers on the center box .if its a extra mod its a very neat job ,
