Re: Iain Hamilton (HartgeH27) Funeral

'I'm not a lurker but a passionate observer.' Iain would have found that amusing, but he'd know the meaning. Beaulieu, Santa pod and more. Funnily enough ten years after we'd last talked on e30zone I learnt one day that he had a problem with a package. it just so happened out of several hundred thou...

Some people like the four pot and I've had a few miles in an IS and 318. It does *sound* a little more pokey as most high revving engines do. However you can always hear a straight 6 BMW engine from a street or two away, a fantastic whine to it regardless of capacity.

Re: where's the read this first thread gone I posted inmo?

We had a massive security glitch possibly due to a site update and neither me nor Steve know how it happened. We are resolving this tonight, there will be a need for site downtime in the coming 72 hours and full and complete clarity along with the intentions of that development section will be poste...

Re: ABS light. does it need re setting to clear it?

I wouldn't recommend soldering it at all because if the thickness of that wire is larger as a result of solder then it may not blow soon enough. I just did it because I was confident just a little dab would be sufficient. Put a post up in the wanted section with the part number on yours, there doesn...

it will have a silver cap on yours. I used a soldering iron but then I was only testing to get it through an MOT. Put the rear demister on when jumping a car.

On a facelift isn't the ABS down near the abs pump area? I know the early ones were in the glovebox.

4 degrees warmer in the boot

Adi, I don't know whether Iain or Phil has told you but there was a reason for me not sending the DVD out, which is linked to me not being around here. Do you still want it, double disc etc. 'bum chums 4' I think it was. On your way if so. :)

Re: just borrowing our quarantine for thread update

Update coming soon! Just prodding myself as much as anything :) Obviously removing a significant chunk around the turret, not shown in this pic. You can see some other rust removal in the background - and no back then I didn't have the spanner/cut down ring spanner for the brake slave. http://i655.p...

Factory set but you can bet your bottom dollar some have been played with. I've certainly done it in the past with a spare AFM while looking into a kangarooing problem, but just as it was a spare not doing a lot.

Home Engine Swaps - How long did it take?

As you know a thread's just been locked that moved towards how quickly a business could swap an engine. Fair comment, but it's too much work to police that one today and I know you'll respect that. In time I will certainly push for that thread to be reopened and 'completed'. But lets give you someth...

You guys are missing the point, this is a business with business rates. When the car leaves the shop it has to run 100% and reliable for x amount of time. For this reason some time will be spent finessing and ensuring all wires are properly secured and that performance is as expected. Not talking ab...
