Hi
Cant remember the other stuff think its EP90 oil, but always take the filler plug out first, that way if it wont come out your not left with an empty diff till you can get it out.

Hi
As a last resort you could get a lock set and a correct colour boot lid off ebay then cut your boot lid to get to the lock then change em all. drastic i know but it would sovle all the probs in one go.

Hi
E36 M42's around £300 to £500 depending on millage etc, on E Bay with all ancilaries, you Need to swap sump, inlet and exhaust manifolds but i believe you can keep the alternater etc with the bigger fan belt, your ECU and Chip and stuff should be fine
hope this helps

Hi
yes it is, you need to remove the top switchs and blanks and find 2 screws and then there are 2 at the bottom to undo the panel, (4 Screws) and pull it forward enough to get to the bulb behind, think there are only 2 bulbs that light both Knobs and the sliders in the middle

Re: -30 degrees? I think my OBC may be exagerating
To check the wiring unplug the sensor and touch the wires together or use a bridging wire, your reading should go up to maximum
then disconnect them and it should go back to -30 or less
Also while under there check for caroshion in the plug

Hi You should have 3 wires in your interior light, 1 perminent live, 1 perminent earth, and 1 switched earth which goes straight to the door switchs, so your door switch must be at fault, as they work when you switch manualy, check the 3 with the siple screw driver and wire tester, the 99p ones, hop...

Hi
not come across this on BMW's but.......
Try it on full speed, as on other cars it uses resisters to slow it down, but full speed is direct to 12v if it works it could be the resister pack, also check the connector on the motor itself for voltage and for water damage
Hope it helps
