Re: Headlights adjustment - MOT

Just had a go with the WD40. Five minutes later the screws are getting loose enough to wiggle. Gave them all a good blast, will try and loosen more again in the morning.

Thought it sounded a bit iffy needing new lights. Glad I consulted the Zone!

Thanks again to everyone who replied :)

Re: Headlights adjustment - MOT

Those ebay lights are for E30's with chrome bumpers. What year is your car??? And Airbags were only fitted to U.S cars. Also, even if the hydraulic adjustment is not working, they can still be adjusted by turning the large plastic knurl around the adjuster. Thanks for the replies guys. Mine is a fa...

Headlights adjustment - MOT

My car failed it's MOT because of the aim being too low on the headlights. After doing a bit of reading on here seems it's a common problem with the hydraulic system. I read a post on here before saying that the lights can be adjusted by opening up the grill and adjusting the aim by turning some scr...

Coming up to three years ownership. I still like the car but I think the love is gone now. It needs a few things doing to it. Not sure if I want to spend the money and carry on enjoying it or sell up :?

Had something similar on my 320. It's pretty scary coming off a busy roundabout and the car dies.

First time was faulty AFM, second was Temp Sensor.

Service tips

I bought my E30 not only because I love the looks, but I wanted a car to fiddle with and work on myself. I've had it a year now and want to give it a service. I've bought all the oil, air, fuel filters, big can of oil and spark plugs for a basic service. I've changed the air filter already, that was...

I was surprised when my teacher at college stuck his hand in my fan and was fine.

He reckons the way to test it is ideally to rev it at 3k or so while not moving. Untill the needle goes in the red and then you will hear the fan kick in.

This is one of those annoying problems that could be loads of things.

On my 320. It was the AFM. The not starting with simlar lack of power was the Temp Sensor.

Can a faulty ICV make the car hard to start?

My 320 has become a pain to start. Need to keep turning the key and pumping the throttle to get it to start. After the sixth attempt or so it starts but idles low, around 500rpm. Once it's been running for a bit the idle will rise and drop. Called the AA out last week and the guy thought it was the ...
