Re: e36 cheap as chips
The steering wheel is ok, its a normal leather one of that period. Most decent E36 have digital climate control
Sport rims for E36 seem to peel and go off quite easily
Dont forget tho, even the newest E36 are about 8/9 years old so theyre not gonna be worth very much!

Re: e36 cheap as chips
Ive had 3 E30s and recently got myself a 328i Coupe and its the best car ive owned; easily better than the red M50 E30 i had :o Smooth effortless power, dont think there are any VANOS issues with the M52 (only the M3 EVO engine i think?). Nikasil can be checked with either a call/email to the dealer...

Gotta agree with all the "get 318iS" talk, hardly more on insurance and quite a car! Ive had both and id say get the quicker one! Do shop around for insurance tho, if i did it all again id have driven slow crap cars until i was 20 or 21 and used the £ on a car instead of all those insurance...

A v good daily drive, the economy is nice too. Got from 27 to 36mpg when i used to own it, first figure town, second one motorway. Infact which is only marginally behind my current 2000 1.7 Ford Puma  Another recommendation for the iS :D It could use more torque and the buzzy engine is an acqui...

M20s have more torque low down from the ones id driven! But M50s (non Vanos) need to be revved a little to get "really" going but pretty sure it has a nicer top end as it would with multivalves. Its a hard comparison cause when both are in an E30 one is quite a bit faster! I always thought the bassy...

If they had put an equivalent ford on the test from that year, say a fiesta or even an escort 1.3, we would see the difference, and would still be waiting now for it to finish the lap, that is if there would be any of the car left to even drive. An equivalent Ford from the era of the E30 M3 would b...
