Hi Wayne, No i still havent actually got around to doing anything with it yet! Been too busy with work etc! Will try and have a look at it this week though. Re: E30 325i engine judder between 2000 - 3000 revs??

Nick, did you end up sorting this problem? The reason I ask is that my e30 sport has just started doing the exact same thing. Car accelerates fine but when cruising between 2k-2.5k revs the engine seems to judder causing the car to kangaroo. So far i've replaced the rocker gasket and have checked al...

Re: LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!!

Well after a few months of trying to diagnose the problem it ended up being the passenger side rear wheel bearing. Bought the part on a hunch that it might of been that, took it to my mechanic and sure enough it was just that. Bit strange though as when checking the mentioned wheel there was no play...

Re: LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!!

Just had a thought, when I was checking the wheels for play earlier, I was able to rotate the jacked up wheel while the opposite wheel was still on the road. This shouldn't b possible with an LSD right....? I guess with what I said, I can probably presume that the LSD is buggered, and an oil change...

Re: LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!!

I suppose it may be worth chucking in a cheap open/diff as a temporary measure to see if this sorts the problem out, and then buying an LSD when one shows up. :)

Re: LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!!

does the noise get louder or quieter when cornering? a worn bearing will often drone louder when it's loaded up, although sometimes they quieten under load which can make choosing which one has gone a bit tricky. recently had a noisy front bearing on the other halfs golf, we were both convinced it ...

Re: LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!!

Many thanks for the pointers chaps. I'll check the movement of the wheels tonight. Bit strange though cos the car passed the MOT a month ago and there was no advisory on the bearings, so hoping it isn't them as it sounds like a pig of a job to do, and would rather change the diff should it be at fau...

LSD or Rear Wheel Bearing Help!!!! (FIXED!!!!)

Hi guys, Was just wondering if there is anyone out there who would be able to assist in an issue I have with my E30. At present there is a loud hum/droaning noise coming from the rear when going above 40MPH. Its transmission related and its still there even when I let the car run in neutral at speed...

My fog light failed - turned out it was the switch. As a quick fix to get it through the MOT I swapped the switch to the one for the front fogs as these aren't needed for MOT :). I had to cut a little plastic lug off to turn the switch around though  Exactly what i did winkeye , my front ones ...

Re: another problem off the old e30

Might be worth checking the fuel pressure on the system, I had the same prob with mine in that it would start on the button when cold but when warm would take a longtime to start. Found on mine that the pump wasn't holding pressure when turned off. Just an idea :?

Had this problem on my e30, turned out to be the rubber ring seal that sits between the fuel pump and the surface of the fuel tank where the pump clips down, under the rear seat bench.

escort rs turbos are shit....end of LOL!!! :teehee: I kind of agree with this. Re: Quick question about the usual sticky wiper problem...

The Reason your motor stops on single swipe is its not getting a constant 12v supply during a full cycle because of the bad contact on this plate. Cool, that makes perfect sense, I'll whip it out tomorrow and clean it up :D Cheers all... This problem is baffling me as it goes. I don't understand ho...

Re: starts and idles fine, small misfire at low revs,ok high

The TPS is the Throttle position sensor, this is connected directly underneath the shaft that the accelerator cable is attached to on the throttle housing, its the little black box which has a 3 pin connector plug on it. This tells the ECU the approx position of the throttle so it can adjust fueling...

If you manage to get a pressure gauge, you can eliminate a lot of things of your check list through the process of elimination, as you'll be able to test if you have a fuel leak in the system, a pump fault, injector fault, fuel regulator fault. Def a good tool to have. :)
