Re: e36 rack conversion pipe ??
I did my z3 conversion with hoses made by a company called hosemaker for £40 odd quid. Wasn't too much hassle to measure up, just gotta mess about with the threads when designing em, as lots of pipework is imperial. The two important ones on the rack are an M16 and M14, both of which have a pitch of...

Re:
it works fine, had 5k out of it, just was looking at chipping it soon, so wanted to make sure I had a standard engine. It runs really well, not had a problem since the rebuild. It has had an amazing 21 owners, so may have been upgraded at some point, im not sure

Do I have special pistons?
A while back I bout my 325 and after 1k the head went. When replacing the head and rebuilding it back up, I noticed that my pistons had a + on them. I haven't played about with BMW engines before but wondered if this signified a different piston type? The guy I bought a replacement head off of had d...

Re: Z3 rack
ooh, didn't know you could use an E46 one, they would be much easier to find. I forgot to say in that last post that an E36 M3 rack is only 3 turns lock to lock, but it is 3 because it is a shorter rack, so won't have the same turning circle

Re: Z3 rack
I did my research before and found out this:
turns lock to lock :
E30 - 4.0
E36 - 3.6
Z3 - 2.7
So I just kept looking for a Z3, I can't see that you would notice the E36 one

Re: Can I fit a performance clutch for a 318 or M3 to my 325
I've got to change the clutch anyway, and GSF want £94 for a standard one with my brothers trade discount, so I might aswell go for a performance one. That way I can play about with the HP in future worry free. Would you just fit the standard one then?

Can I fit a performance clutch for a 318 or M3 to my 325?
Hi, anybody know if I can put a performance clutch that is advertised for an M3 or a 318i on my 325? Are they the same? I have found some great spec'd clutches online, but none for a 2.5
Thanks
Thanks
