Not at all. Suspension, steering, engine, etc, etc are all M3. More details on link below...

Re: How rare are M3 cabs? Spotted one the other day

I've got one and was out last weekend in it. But not where the ones above were spotted. Nothing better for blasting round country lanes on sunny days. BMW only imported 33 into UK, although probably a few more here now. Mine came from Belgium.

Re: 325i Motorsport convertible

Thanks. I'm asking 'cause was looking through the records of my M635 and see that the orginal buyer traded in an '89 325i Motorsport convertible with 2,000 thousand miles against it. He got £27,000 for the 325i which I thought sounded a lot and wondered what the list price was. The M635 was sold on ...

Re: M635CSi and Z1 more desirable than E30 M3

My top 5 best ever BMWs would be: 1. M635CSi Highline Motorsport Edition, macao blue with white leather - 286bhp! 2. E30 M3 special edition: Evo, Cecotto, etc - I'm a sucker for special editions 3. Alpina Z1 RLE (and maybe normal versions) - because of the doors, okay! 4. 3.0 CSL - 'cause they only ...

M635CSi and Z1 more desirable than E30 M3

In the current BMW Car magazine there is review of the M635Csi, Z1, M3 and Z3M Coupe. It says they are all geat which I guess most people will agree with. In the editorial on the first page the editor answers the question which would he rather have. He says his first choice would be the M635CSi and ...

Re: z1's

They made 8000 of them. Not enough go to match the looks was always the problem so many have been tuned - AC, Hartge, Alpina, Lornez, etc all did engine work which bought bhp to just over 200. There was also a turbo conversion by Moseman (spelling?). If there is full evidence of a quality conversion...

It was shipped from Germany and delivered FOC by Cotswolds. Even got discount on it. Its Lotus White, so you can imagine what my orginal Lotus White carpet is looking like after 20 years. Re: BMW Parts Price shockers...

I bought a whole new fitted carpet for my M635CSi for £100 from my BMW dealer. Firstly having it was good and secondily I thought the price was okay too.

Bet a lot of car companies wouldn't have carpets in stock for their 20 year old models.

Boot lid difficult to shut

My boot lid is really difficult to shut. It takes 2 or 3 really hard slams to get it to shut. Not a big problem in the scheme of things, but irritating.

Anyone got any tips? I've tried lubricating the lock.

Re: Good independant garages near Reading, Berkshire?

Another good independent BMW specialist is Munich Motors in Wokingham. Two mechanics (and owners I think) run E30's, one an M3, although they do all types of BMs. They look after my M3 and M635 and are very helpful, even talking me out of work they thought wasn't needed. Their number is 0118 977 2236.

Re: How good are M3's to drive?

I've an '89 M3...great on country roads, but everything happens above 4,000 revs so you have to thrash it. Not that powerful compared to a modern car but sounds so much better. But boring and noisy on motorways. Looks damn good at all speeds.

I wouldn't bother with a hardtop. I had one but it leaked much worse than the soft top. Then you have to store it when its off. I sold it after a month.

On board computer

The battery for my M3 E30 went dead although its recharged and working now. However, the in car computer now isn't working. The date and time were reset okay, but other functions like temp, MPG, etc just show PPPP. I've tried reseting it by pushing the reset button, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
