my battery drain!

right i still havnt fixed it, the battery died after being left for just one day this time. does anyone know if this is right fuses 21, 27, 28 are drawing 2 amps each. its a 86 320i SE has bmw alarm, (car isnt always locked tho when left) i have disconected the boot light. and this is the second bat...

oh yeh, if when its charged, i connect the battery start the car, then remove the terminals an the car still runs is that a good enough test for the alternator?

ah sorry forget to say, ive used a differant battery too, and the same thing happend, so im guessing its not the battery, also if it was the alternator not charging wouldnt the light be on on the dash? i put a fully charged battery on, drove 30 miles, then didnt start the car for a day, then its fla...

well once my antique charger decides its fully charged which will be about xmas, i'l go and buy a multimeter from halfrauds or is maplin better?

erm no i dont have a multimetre which is the problem, that and the fact its my only working car here and i live in the middle of bloody nowhere, so i have to wait for the battery to charge every time.

battery drain 320 grrr

right, over the last week or two now the 320 is draining its battery. its only when left for more then 1 day.
is there any common problems with this? anything easy to check?
the battery light goes out when im driving im sure the alternator is charging.

i see, i wasnt sure if just having more octane would burn better, in my saab it makes a huge differance between normal and super, and in my bugeye umpreza it made a massive differance, i dont know much about the m20 tho hence the question. cheaper fuel for pirate woooop

i filled up with v-power in my car just out of habbit, is it actualy worth running a 86 2.0 on it? didnt really feel any differance. that was over a tanks worth tho.

the 320 is reliable, as long as its got service history upto date, i wouldnt worry about the millage too much. they drive well, can cruise along nicely or get the revs up and they go even better. mines on classic car insurance and is pretty cheap. theres alot more 320s that have been looked after th...

my gauge plays games under 1/4 tank, one min it will be a quater, then near empty then back lol i use quater tank as empty.

ive always loved the gauge cus i can remember when i was a nipper and my mum had a few bms with the gauge, used to watch it fly from 50 to 0 constantly lol and lol, i only have to look at the go fast pedel and mine drops to 10! but then again if you watch the instant mpg on other cars they often dro...

how acurate are these? and how does they work?
i keep finding myself watching it more and more, seeing if i can keep it over 25mpg. then i normaly get bored and see if i can keep it under 12.
i know its just instant mpg, just wondered if anyone takes any notice of them.

if the frenchies never felt right (ive had a load of em too) then the E30 will feel worlds aprt, in terms of build and rwd. i think you might like it. id rather have a slower e30 then a erm quicker 205, imo feels better built then the golf, i had a mk2 16v and just couldnt get on with it, its the wh...

theres a good 50bhp differance between the two so you cant really compare. wouldnt the carpi have a better power to weight ratio? compared to a 320.

meh stopping distances are for fools lol im used to 40 year old austins with drums all around and no servo on crossplys, so the bm stops pretty well haha. actualy it doesnt, ive not locked the wheels but i do need to look at the discs or pads and they fade out a bit
